Show of the scholars of the AIT-scholarship on Heimtextil: What do we cover?

The Technique of Furoshiki is about so much more than just folding and tying a piece of fabric around an object to protect and to transport it. The old tradition rather sums up an entire mentality of living life to its fullest. Furoshiki is a way to bring people together, it means to transport, transport means to travel and to travel means to meet. Our reality has become so complex. Keeping up with everything is simply impossible. Instead of losing ourselves in the process of trying to figure everything out, we should except the fact that not everything has to be under our control and that our state of mind is not the measure of all things. When did we lose the ability to think and to trust like a child? The healthy amount of imagination and fantasy to accept the way things appear instead of trying to define every particle of it to proof its worth? Our animation combines the main idea behind Furoshiki. People come together. Suddenly big things can come to life, when we put differences aside and combine our talents, ideas and thoughts.

We want people to take a minute, take a deep breath and ask themselves in the most sincere fundamental way: What do we cover?

Über das TALENT LAB

Im Rahmen des Programms für die Zielgruppe Architekten, Innenarchitekten und Hotelausstatter bietet die Heimtextil am Freitag, 11. Januar 2019 eine Vortragsreihe speziell für den Branchennachwuchs an. Bereits zum zweiten Mal findet in der Halle 4.2 das Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Talent Lab statt, das sich als Diskursplattform insbesondere an Hochschulen und damit an den Nachwuchs der Innen-/Architektur richtet. Im Rahmen der Talent Lab Lectures berichten Studierende über ihre Projekte und Visionen, erfahrene Planer und frische Newcomer geben Tipps für einen erfolgreichen Berufsstart und Experten vermitteln Wissen über neue Materialien und Anwendungsbereiche. Im Anschluss stehen die Referenten für eine Diskussions- und Fragerunde zur Verfügung. Dieser Veranstaltungsteil wird von Kristina Bacht (AIT-Dialog) moderiert.  Abgerundet wird der Tag durch einen geführten Messerundgang des bdia. Im Rahmen der Vorträge sowie als Teil des Messerundgangs präsentieren Stipendiatinnen des „Interior Scholarship – das AIT-Stipendium der Sto-Stiftung“ eine innen-/architektonische Inszenierung „what do we cover“, die das Zusammenspiel von Textil und Architektur in den Fokus stellt und das Thema Furoshiki räumlich interpretiert.
