Terms of Entry

In the first year of the AIT Award submissions from 47 countries where handed in. The AIT Award first launched in 2012, instantly became one of the largest competitions for architecture and interior design worldwide. The AIT Award „Best in Interior and Architecture 2016“ combines interior design and architecture in one price and has its focus in the architectural centers of the world (Europe, North America, Middle East and Far East). The AIT Award is divided in different categories: all types of architectural projects and interior spaces can be submitted. An international renowned jury of architects and interior designers will be awarding the best project in each of the eight categories.

Competition entries

All realized projects, which as sign to the following categories and are com-pleted after 1st January 2012 can be handed in. A maximum of three projects per entrant may be submitted in one or more categories. There is no charge for entering the competition.

Eligibility

The competition is open to architects, interior designers and design professi-onals. Building owners and product manufacturers may also submit entries, provided they indicate the names of the architects, interior designers and design professionals responsible for the project in question.

Documents to be submitted

The following documentation must be submitted in English or German. Each entrant may submit up to three projects in one or more categories.

  • One display board in A0 format (84,1 x 118,9cm, portrait format) per project, with all the plans, elevations, cross-sections, detail dra-wings and photographs necessary for visualizing and understanding the project. Please download the Layout for the display board from www.ait-award.com. The plans have to be mounted on a 10 mm kappa board (foam board). Rolled-up paper plans will not be accepted.
  • Explanatory report (one A4 page, in English or German) The description of the project should contain the underlying design thinking, the spatial con-cept and information about the use of materials. If the building’s concept fulfils guidelines of sustainability, a brief statement is requested.
  • Declaration of authorship (also doubles as entry form: see appendix). Please fax copies in advance, to reach us not later than 27th January 2016!
