The Innovation Awards Architecture+ are aimed at companies, processing firms, architects and interior designers from various fields of planning, building and equipping. Entries are invited that, based on architectural criteria, stand out for their design, functionality and conceptual quality.

Are architects and planners your ­target group?
The Innovation Award Architecture+ Building offers your company the opportunity to make products, materials and systems for the building sector visible where design, quality and possible applications are assessed from an architectural perspective.

The renowned Innovation Award Architecture+ Building of the architecture journal AIT is presented in cooperation with Messe München as part of BAU 2027 – the world’s leading trade fair for archi­tecture, materials and systems – and will be awarded for the 17th time. It underlines the importance of architectural quality in the building sector.

Awards are given to products that stand out for their design, functionality and conceptual quality – and that meet the requirements of architects and planners to a particular degree.

Conditions of participation
The Innovation Award Architecture+ Building is aimed at industrial companies and processing firms with products or project-related solutions in the fields of building materials, building elements, façades, interior fit-out and building services, as well as other systems and products for the building sector.

Eligible for submission are innovative develop­ments that are no more than three years old and available on the market at the time of BAU 2027. Architects and planners who have worked together with a company on a product or solution may also participate.

Each company may submit up to four products. Participation in the Innovation Award Architecture+ Building is open exclusively to exhibitors at BAU 2027.

Exhibition
All submitted products will be presented on large-format posters in a special exhibition at BAU 2027 in Munich. In addition, you may display product literature for the respective product. This provides you with an additional presentation area alongside your own stand throughout the entire duration of BAU 2027, from 11 to 15 January 2027.

Jury
The submitted products will be evaluated and the award winners selected on 11 January 2027 by a jury of experts consisting of renowned architects and planners. During the jury session, the jury will visit your stand to assess the submitted products directly on site and to talk to you about them.

Award ceremony
The award winners will be announced immediately after the jury meeting on 11 January 2027 at 5 p.m. as part of a public event at the Innovation Award Architecture+ Building stand.

Awards
The winners of the Innovation Award will receive a trophy. Certificates will be awarded for Special Mentions and Mentions. In addition, all award winners will be provided with the logo of the Innovation Award Architecture+ Building, which they may use for their own communication and marketing activities until the next edition of the award.

Special publication
All submitted products will be presented with images and text in  an extensive special section of AIT, including the company name and website link. Award-winning products will be marked accordingly. The issue reaches up to 20,000 readers.

Online presence
The publisher’s digital media provide additional visibility: with documentation on www.ait-xia-dialog.de, a presentation in the AIT-Dialog newsletter with around 15,000 subscribers, and distribution via social media.

Documents to be submitted
For each entry, a completed information sheet is required before the start of the trade fair. It serves to prepare the jury and provide a better understanding of the submitted product or solution.

For the special exhibition at the Innovation Award Architecture+ Building stand, a DIN-A0 poster is also required. This poster is designed according to a template, which you will receive with your confirmation of participation. The provision of an exhibit is not required.

Submission of documents: 10 December 2026
Jury meeting: 11 January 2027
Award ceremony: 11 January 2027, 5 p.m. at the Innovation Award stand

EUR 1,750 plus VAT for the first product
EUR 750 plus VAT for each additional product

Cancellation fees
40 percent of the participation fee up to four weeks before the jury meeting
70 percent of the participation fee from four weeks before the jury meeting
100 percent of the participation fee from one week before the jury meeting
