V ariantenreiche Lochplatten: Eine heimelige Atmosphäre sollte im Habitual im Mercado
de Colón in Valencia herrschen. Dafür zonierte Fran cesc Rifé das rund 300 Quadrat -
meter große Restaurant mit Pappelholz-Platten, die nicht nur als Wand-, Fen ster- und
De ckenverkleidungen, sondern auch als Trennwände und zur Ausbildung von Se parees
zum Ein satz kamen. Je nach Funktion verfügen die Platten über eine an dere Loch -
rastergröße, die im Restaurant für gute Akustik, leichten Einbau von De cken strahlern,
so wie gedämpften Tageslichteinfall sorgen und großformatige, detailreiche Wand gestal tun -
gen aus be dru ck ten Tellern, Korken oder dreidimensionale Keramikfiguren ermöglichen.

P erforated plates with many variants: For the Habitual restaurant in the Valencia
Mercado de Colón, a cosy atmosphere was to be created. To achieve this,
Francesc Rifé divided the about 300 square-metre restaurant with poplar plates which
were not only used as wall-, window- and ceiling cladding but also as partitions and
to create private rooms. Depending on their function, the plates have differently sized
perforations which ensure good acoustics in the restaurant, easy integration of ceiling
spotlights and also subdued incidence of daylight. They also make large-format wall
designs possible which are rich in details and consist of printed plates, corks or three-
dimensional ceramic figures.
