L uftiges Metallregal: Wie sieht die Buchhandlung der Zukunft aus? Der Buchladen Rong -
bao zhai in Peking ließ mit Blick auf diese Frage die eigenen Räume zu einem Lese café
mit Buchverkauf umbauen. Im Rahmen der Umgestaltung entwickelten die De sig ner von
Arch Studio ein Regal-System aus schwarzem Eisen, dessen luftig filigrane Kon struk tion die
Buchpräsentation mit Pflanzbehältern und einer indirekten LED-Be leuch tung verbindet.
Das geradlinige System findet im ganzen Laden als Wand- und Ver klei dungselement An -
wen dung, sorgt für strukturelle Ruhe und erzielt eine angenehme Symbiose von Bü chern
und Pflanzen im Raum, die das Lesecafé zu einem Ort mit hoher Freizeit qualität machen.

A iry metal shelf: How does the bookstore of the future look? In view of this
question, the Rongbaozhai bookstore in Beijing had its premises converted into
a café where books are also sold. In the context of the conversion, the designers from
Arch Studio developed a shelf system of black iron whose airy-filigree construction
combines displaying books with plant containers and indirect LED lighting. The
rectilinear system is installed in the whole store as a wall- and panelling element. It
ensures structural calm and achieves a pleasant symbiosis of books and plants in the
room which make the coffee bookstore a place of high leisure quality.
