V or Kurzem bezog das Architekturbüro Detail Design neue Räumlich -
keiten in der Albulastrasse in Zürich. Konzipiert wurde der Umbau
der 300 Quadrat meter großen Fläche vom Büroinhaber Roger J. Cope -
land. Er setzte einen besonderen Fokus auf die ergonomische Gestaltung
der Ar beitsplätze – so stehen in den neuen Räum lichkeiten unter ande-
rem eine Bar- sowie eine Lese theke zur Verfügung. Letztere bildet sowohl
räumlich als auch gestalterisch den Mittelpunkt des Büros: Mit einer ver-
tikal eingespannten Glasplatte zieht die Lesetheke alle Blicke auf sich und
fungiert zugleich als Raumteiler. Auf der Platte ist die erste Entwurfs skizze
von Copeland für die Centerbar des Zürcher Flughafens zu sehen. Sie
wurde mittels Folienplot darauf angebracht. Den Auftrag zur Pro duktion
und Umset zung der Einbauten erhielt die Ganter Suisse AG, eine Tochter -
gesellschaft von Ganter Interior. Das inhabergeführte Fami lien unter neh -
men mit Hauptsitz in Waldkirch ist im Bereich Laden- und Innen aus bau
tätig und realisiert auf Basis von Architekten- und Designer entwürfen
hochwertige Ein rich tungen. Für das neue Büro von Detail Design fertigte
Ganter die Bartheke, Lesetheke, Aktenablagen entlang der Fenster sowie
die Rahmen der großformatigen Fensterboxen. Diese bieten spannende
Einblicke in die Besprechungsräume und lenken zudem das Tages licht ins
Innere der Räume. Mattgraue Wandflächen, Elemente aus weiß furnierter
Eiche für Türen, Fenster und Tische sowie Büromöbel mit hellgrauen
Ober flächen ergeben ein harmonisches Zusammenspiel. vc

Großformatige Fenster geben Einblicke in die Besprechungsräume. • Large-format windows allow views into the meeting rooms. T he architectural office Detail Design recently moved into new pre-
mises on Albulastrasse in Zurich. The conversion of the 300 squa-
re-metre area was designed by the owner of the office, Roger J. Copeland.
He especially focused on the ergonomic design of the workstations –
thus, among other items, in the new premises there is a bar- and a rea-
ding counter. The latter forms the centre of the office as regards space as
well as design: With a vertically inserted glass panel, the reading counter
attracts attention and serves as a partition at the same time. On the
panel, the first design sketch for the Centerbar of Zurich Airport is shown.
It was applied as a decal. The commission for the production and the
implementation of the fittings went to Ganter Suisse AG, a subsidiary of
Ganter Interior. The owner-managed family company with its headquar-
ters in Waldkirch operates in the field of store- and interior fittings and
constructs high-quality furnishing based on plans by architects and desi-
gners. For the new office of Detail Design, Ganter manufactured the bar
counter, the reading counter, the storing space for files along the wind-
ows as well as the frames of the large-format window boxes. These allow
interesting views into the conference rooms and furthermore direct day-
light into the interior of the rooms. Matte-grey wall surfaces, elements of
