Designer des Jahres

Am 15. Januar wurde Marcel Wanders im Rahmen der Möbelmesse imm cologne zum
A&W-Designer des Jahres 2018 ernannt. Die Auszeichnung ergänzt die Sammlung des
niederländischen Designers. Bekannt ist er für seine fantasievollen, poetischen bis ro -
man tischen Entwürfe, seien es Produkte oder Innenräume. Wenngleich seine Hand schrift
manchem Betrachter zu plakativ oder pompös anmutet, sind seine Entwürfe in den welt-
bekannten Museen wie dem Centre Pompidou in Paris oder dem Museum of Modern Art
in New York zu sehen. Ein bisschen wie Alice im Wunder land können sich die Gäste in

local colours, forms and materials: In the tower which has a total of 270 rooms and was
planned by South West Architecture, there are plenty of local patterns to be found as
well as Arab characters and even defining elements of the historic bazaars.
