Bodo Höbing, Bruno “BeezeBoe” Ridderbusch and Kolja Bultmann

became attached to each other in the 1990s. Since then, the three

Berlin artists have been working as a collective. Starting in 2012,

they have made a name for themselves in the tape art scene under

the name Klebebande (Taping Gang), decorating interior walls,

façades, exhaust pipes and asphalt with gaffer, painter’s or duct

tape. Despite their name, the artists are free in their choice of

materials. Occasionally, they create works using other techniques,

and in their preparation, they draw on their many years of tape

skills. Recently, the gang completed a 35-metre-long painted mural

for the sports hall of the new Grace Hopper Comprehensive School

in Teltow, Brandenburg (Numrich Albrecht Klumpp Architekten).

The individual motifs of the graphic, previously projected onto the

wall and positioned with adhesive tape (see below for the creation),

show abstract representations of pitch markings and sports. The

painting represents the athletic diversity practised at the school.
