Akustikpaneel aus Pilzen: Foresta – was übersetzt Wald bedeutet – basiert auf Myzel,
einem wurzelähnlichen Gewebe vom Pilz, das auf einem Substrat aus Baumwoll- und
Hanfresten kultiviert wird. Durch abschließende Wärmebehandlung wird daraus ein nach-
haltiger Bioverbundwerkstoff mit schallabsorbierenden Eigenschaften. Das System von
Arup ist in verschiedenen naturbasierten Farben, Geometrien und Texturen erhältlich.

Acoustic panel consisting of mushroom: Foresta – which translates as forest – is based
on mycelium, a root-like fabric of mushrooms which is grown on a substratum of cot-
ton- and hemp remnants. With a final heat treatment, this results in a sustainable bio-
composite material with sound-absorbing features. The system launched on the mar-
ket by Arup is available in various nature-based colours, geometries and textures.
