AUSSTELLUNG IN FRANKFURT
im Saasfee*Pavillon mit Icons-Farben von Caparol
in Saasfee*Pavillon with Icons-Colours by Caparol
Entwurf • Design Ausstellung „Red Roses Club“ von Sonja Yakovleva
Ästhetisches Kleinod aus den 1970er-Jahren • Aesthetic gem from the 1970s

rise buildings, parks and streets in an absolute inner-city locati-
on of Frankfurt. In the pavilion which is part of the building complex
of the Hochhaus am Turm designed by B.F.J. Lange Architekten in 1972,
there used to be a computer centre. Since 2008, the building had
been used by the Saasfee* artist collective and multimedia label.
Since this time and following the collective, the building is called
Saasfee*Pavillon and provides space, a platform and a network for
young art, media, design and music. Until recently, the glass, moder-
nist cube in the park at the Eschenheimer Turm could only be tempo-
rarily used. After an extensive conversion, the pavilion was only
recently reopened – this time with a set programme for young, creati-
ve activities. In August, the artist Sonja Yakovleva constructed the Red
Roses Club and invited to the “Aggro-Fit-Training”. Her critical analysis
of fitness studios for women is a combination of installation and per-
formance. At first glance, the work looks very similar to a fitness club,
car tyres are stacked and – similar to a punching bag – some of them
are suspended from the ceiling with chains. The work is to stimulate
self-reflection and a vivid discussion of social conventions. The paints
for the installation were sponsored by Caparol and are from the new
