UMBAU DER ALTEN MÜNZE IN SCHONGAU DURCH SUNDER-PLASSMANN ARCHITEKTEN

Dank Fördergeldern des Denkmalamts und der Städtebauförderung konnte das alte Münzgebäude saniert werden. • Thanks to aid money, it was possible to renovate the old mint building.

Schongau in Oberbayern verfügt über eine malerische Altstadt aus
dem 13. Jahrhundert, die von einer nahezu intakten, geschlosse-
nen Stadtmauer umgeben ist. Teil dieser Wallanlage ist auch die
Alte Münze, die seit 2008 leerstand. Sunder-Plassmann Architek-
ten Stadtplaner aus Utting am Ammersee haben das betagte
Gebäude revitalisiert und behutsam zum Amt für Senioren samt
Veranstaltungssaal umgebaut. Damit entstand an der Wallanlage
ein neuer, die gesamte Altstadt aufwertender Ort.

Schongau in Upper Bavaria has a picturesque old town from the
13 century that is surrounded by an almost intact, continuous
th
town wall. Part of this rampart is also the Alte Münze [mint],
which has been vacant since 2008. Sunder-Plassmann Architek-
ten, urban planners from Utting am Ammersee, have revitalized
the old building and gently turned it into the office for seniors
which also includes an event hall. The result is a new venue at the
rampart which successfully upgrades the entire old town.
