„The Story of Hamam“ im Foyer beleuchtet Geschichte und Architektur des anspruchsvollen Restaurierungsprojekts. • “The Story of Hamam” in the foyer highlights the history and architecture of the demanding restoration project.

Nach 12 Jahren Restaurierung ist der historische Zeyrek Çinili Hamam
bei Istanbul für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Atelier Brückner aus
Stuttgart hat in dem architektonischen Juwel aus dem 16. Jahrhundert
traditionelles Badeerlebnis mit einem Museumsbesuch verbunden.
Vier zentrale Themen führen durch die Geschichte und Architektur des
Gebäudes sowie durch die sozialen und kulturellen Dimensionen des
Hamam. Minimalistische Ausstellungsarchitektur trifft die historische
Bausubstanz und setzt einzigartige Exponate gekonnt in Szene.

After 12 years of restoration, the historical Zeyrek Çinili Hamam in
Istanbul is now open to the public. Atelier Brückner from Stuttgart
has transformed this 16th-century architectural gem into a space that
combines a traditional bathing experience with a museum visit. Four
central themes guide visitors through the building’s history and archi-
tecture, as well as the social and cultural dimensions of the hammam.
The minimalist exhibition architecture harmonises with the historical
structure, skilfully showcasing unique exhibits.
