T he shape of things – Form und Formvollendung waren Thema
des vielfältigen Messeauftritts, mit dem sich Laufen anlässlich
des Salone del Mobile in seinem neuen Mailänder Showroom in der
Via Manzoni – analog und digital – präsentierte. Eine große LED-Wand
ließ die Besucher eingangs in fünf von Snøhetta entwickelte virtuelle
Welten eintauchen. Das Osloer Architekturbüro hatte surreale Archi-
tekturen und Landschaften geschaffen, die das Thema Sanitärkeramik
mit dem Element Wasser in Verbindung brachten. Als Leitmotiv diente
die natürliche Eleganz und Geschmeidigkeit von Schwänen – analog
zur formvollendeten Laufen-Sanitärkeramik. Gezeigt wurde anlässlich
ihres 20-jährigen (!) Jubiläums außerdem die von Stefano Giovannoni
entwickelte Kollektion IlBagnoAlessi. Das Mailänder Studio Lys rückte
die zeitlose, wohlproportionierte Sanitärkeramik auf einer schrägen
Bühne in eine museale Perspektive. Eine große Spiegelwand dupli-
zierte die Skulpturen gleichenden Ausstellungsstücke. Inspiriert war
diese Art der Präsentation vom Le Corbusier-Schüler, Architekten, Ar-
chitekturtheoretiker und Verfechter der schrägen Ebenen Claude Pa-
rent (1923–2016). Und schließlich war im Innenhof des Showrooms
der Lunar Lander von EOOS Design zu sehen – eine genderneutrale öf-

gue and digital presentation at its new Milan showroom on Via Man-
zoni on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile. A large LED wall allo-
wed visitors to immerse themselves in five virtual worlds developed
by Snøhetta. The Oslo-based architecture firm had created surreal ar-
chitectures and landscapes that linked the theme of sanitary ceramics
with the element of water. The natural elegance and suppleness of
swans served as a leitmotif – in analogy to the perfectly shaped Laufen
sanitary ceramics. The IlBagnoAlessi collection developed by Stefano
Giovannoni was also featured on the occasion of its 20 (!) anniversary.

Studio Lys from Milan put the timeless, well-proportioned sanitary ce-
ramics into a museum-like perspective on a sloping stage. A large mir-
rored wall duplicated the sculpture-like exhibits. This type of presen-
tation was inspired by Claude Parent (1923–2016), student of Le Corbu-
sier, architect, architectural theorist and advocate of inclined planes.
And finally, the Lunar Lander by EOOS Design was on show in the cour-
tyard: a gender-neutral public toilet that takes an ecologically sustai-
nable approach: microorganisms generate electricity from urine, allo-
