RAGNO SHOWROOM IN MAILAND
für Fliesen und Feinsteinzeug von Ragno
for tiles and porcelain stoneware by Ragno
Entwurf • Design Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT, ES-Barcelona

– spider in German – as an opportunity to turn the first Milan flagship
showroom of the tile and porcelain stoneware manufacturer into a
spider’s web. This is most obvious in the display systems: expansive
wooden constructions and metal pull ropes are reminiscent of the 8-
legged creatures and their webs. Apart from that, the 400-square-
metre showroom in the Porta Nova district is a kaleidoscope of co-
lours, textures and decors. Benedetta Tagliabue conceived the floor as
“one big mosaic, a true polychrome work of art”. Once again, the ar-
chitect demonstrates her ability to combine materials, surfaces, tex-
tures and colours in a harmonious, varied and exciting way in her ty-
pically cheerful manner. The wall mosaic with the small, colourful
tiles from the Storie collection is a homage to Giorgio De Chirico, the
grand master of metaphysical painting. The showroom reveals the ex-
pressive potential of the brand, which is part of the Marazzi Group. It
is a material library and best practice in one. Ragno CEO Mauro Van-
dini is convinced: “The new Ragno showroom in Milan tells the story
of our products in a fascinating and impressive way and proves the
