an.

of Milan. On 750 square metres and three floors, the collections of the
brands Ariostea, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, Fiandre Architectural
Surfaces, Iris Ceramica, Porcelaingres, SapienStone and the new exclu-
sive bathroom label Seventyonepercent are presented. The new loca-
tion on Via Santa Margherita 4 originally accommodated a bank. The
showroom ambience designed by Florence-based firm Area-17 Archi-
tecture & Interiors takes its inspiration from the confidence-building
stone materiality of traditional bank buildings. Large-format porcelain
stoneware slabs of different textures and colours are used to clad the
rooms and also define the furniture, plant troughs and room dividers.
The look and materiality of the slabs encourage people to touch them
— and this is explicitly intended. Area-17 Architecture & Interiors desi-
gned the ground floor as a spacious lounge. The imposing counter is
inspired by the Milanese bar scene. Floor-to-ceiling, inviting shop
windows open up the showroom to the street. The first floor is dedica-
ted to the theme of spa. A central installation and lateral niches make
private and public bathroom scenarios tangible. In analogy to the vault
of the former bank, the basement now serves as an archive. The brand
potential of the Iris Ceramica Group is stored in this material library.
