T radition braucht auch Mut zur Veränderung! Im vergangenen Jahr hat Göbel, eine
1953 in Neuburg an der Donau gegründete Bäckerei und Konditorei samt Kaffee-
haus, mit Hilfe von Reimann Architecture ein deutliches innenräumliches Update voll-
zogen. Göbel präsentiert sich seitdem im Mid-Century Modern Style mit klaren Linien
und organisch-weichen Formen. Die zeitlos-klassische Ästhetik dieses um die Mitte des
20. Jahrhunderts tonangebenden Stils eignet sich bestens, um einerseits auf die Histo-
rie und Gründungszeit des Kaffeehauses zu verweisen und andererseits kurzlebigen,
künftigen Trends souverän zu widerstehen. Wandvertäfelungen aus amerikanischem
Nussbaum vermitteln Wärme und Behaglichkeit und kontrastieren mit edlem weißem
Carrara-Marmor für Tischplatten, Tresen und hexagonale Bodenfliesen. Details aus
Messing setzen wertige Akzente. Geschmeidig folgen die zentrale Verkaufstheke und
die Barista-Bar dem winkelförmigen Grundriss. Sebastian Herkners SoapTiles umman-
teln diesen Tresen und nehmen so die Lamellenstruktur der Holzvertäfelungen auf. Tra-
pezförmig weitet sich der in das Eichenholzparkett eingepasste Fliesenteppich in Rich-
tung Tresen, zu den Back- und Konditorwaren hin. Mit Samt bezogene Sitzmöbel und
Kissen und Stühle verheißen Komfort, während indirektes Licht ein Wohlfühlambiente
schafft und kugelförmige Hängeleuchten als Eyecatcher dienen.

T radition also needs the courage to change! Last year, Göbel, a bakery, confectio-
nery and coffee house founded in Neuburg an der Donau in 1953, underwent a si-
gnificant interior update under the aegis of Reimann Architecture. Göbel now presents
itself in mid-century modern style with clear contours and organically soft shapes. The
timeless classic aesthetic of this style, which was predominant around the middle of
the 20th century, is ideally suited, on the one hand, to refer to the history and founding
period of the coffee house and, on the other hand, to confidently resist short-lived, fu-
ture trends. Wall panelling made of American walnut conveys cosiness and contrasts
with elegant white Carrara marble used for tabletops, counters and hexagonal floor
tiles. Brass details add high-quality emphases. The central sales counter and the bari-
sta bar harmoniously follow the angular floor plan. Sebastian Herkner's Soap Tiles en-
case this counter, taking up the lamellar structure of individual wood panelling. The
tile carpet, which is embedded in the oak wood parquet, widens in a trapezoidal
shape towards the counter with baked goods and sweet pastries. Velvet-covered sea-
ting furniture and cushions and chairs ensure comfort, while indirect light creates a
feel-good ambience and spherical pendant luminaires serve as eye-catchers.
