of the ceiling was produced by the photogrammetric scanning of the infrastructure in-
tegrated in the ceiling. The premise of the different heights of the drywall construction
is to counteract the “box aesthetics” becoming increasingly popular in Stuttgart. We
proportioned the mixture of blue colour, mirrors, fire detectors, air outlets and exposed
concrete according to the stochastic principles of the physical hemisphere. It looks as
if layers of different materials are overlapping like clouds in the sky. Light rails with LED
spots complement the overall picture. Various work models, sketched ideas, printed
WhatsApp chats and an order confirmation were deliberately “forgotten” in the trocken-
baudecke – like a foundation stone which, however, was laid at the end and not at the
beginning – objets trouvés for the future! What, on the ground floor, starts as a pink
floor develops on the lower level in the complete spectrum. When one crosses the in-
conspicuous staircase with a shell look, one gets to the toilet. The complete opposite
of the abstract landscape on the floor above – the total compression of colour, volume
and light makes the separation between the rooms for gentlemen and ladies implode.
The only noticeable barrier is the central washstand which, due to the perfect illusion
of the mirror symmetry, generates a baroque dissolution of the room. Symmetrically
constructed, with precise components of Calacatta Bianco, the piece of furniture weighs
impressive 1,300 kilogrammes. Yet it appears to float since the constructive elements
disappear behind the drywall. A metal construction, encased by water-resistant wood
panels that was semi-statically glued onto the marble slabs. In the interstices run
twelve pipes and two cables for backlighting the mirror. The backdrop for this crafts-
