Die Tischform ermöglicht unzählige Formationen. • The form of the table allows formations.

Z ugegebenermaßen werden Stühle mit ausgestellten Beinen und
Tische mit organisch geformten Platten eher in Wohnzimmern ver-
mutet als in Büros oder in Räumen öffentlicher Gebäude. Doch die Mö -
belserie macht sich genau diese Assoziationskette zu Nutze. Denn der
Designer Przemysław „Mac“ Stopa bezweckt die Auflockerung klinisch
und unpersönlich wirkender Umgebungen durch an Wohn be reiche erin-
nernde Neuinterpretationen von Designklassikern. Bei Tauko – ein finni-
scher Ausdruck für Pause und Unterbrechung – wird auf geschwungene
Formen, hochwertige Holzelemente und Pastelltöne ge setzt. Charak teris -
tisch für die Stühle ist die zweigeteilte Ausformung des Sitzes, die durch
eine Verbindung auf der Unterseite der Schale realisiert wird. Eine groß-
zügig ausgeführte Rundung am Abschluss der beiden Hälften sorgt für
hohen Sitzkomfort. Die Tischserie greift die sich nach unten hin verjün-
genden Holzbeine der Stühle auf und komplettiert diese mit einer abge-
rundeten dreieckigen Tischplatte. Die Form erinnert so nicht nur an die
eines Nierentisches, sondern erfüllt neben ästhetischen auch funktionelle
Zwecke: Jeweils um 90 Grad gedreht können die Tische zu einer langen
Reihe ergänzt werden. Runde, dreieckige und ring- sowie U-förmige For -

A dmittedly, chairs with splayed legs and tables with organically sha-
ped tops are more likely to be found in living rooms than in office
landscapes or in rooms of public buildings. However, the furniture series
makes use of exactly this chain of associations. That is because designer
Przemysław “Mac” Stopa intends to loosen up settings which look clinical
and impersonal with new interpretations of design classic which remind
of living areas. In the case of Tauko – a Finish expression for “break” and
“pause” – the focus is on curved shapes, high-quality wooden elements
and pastel colours. What is characteristic of the chairs is the two-part
form of the seat produced by a connection on the bottom of the chair buk-
ket. A generously designed curvature at the edge of the two halves ensu-
res high sitting comfort. The table series imitates the chairs’ wooden legs
which taper towards the bottom and complements them with a rounded
triangular table top. The form thus not only reminds of that of a “kidney-
shaped” table but, in addition to the aesthetic aspects, it also has functio-
nal purposes: When each table is rotated by 90 degrees, they can be put
together to form a long, straight row. Round, triangular and ring- as well
as U-shaped formations are also feasible. These numerous, easily chan-
geable arrangements make the table a true all-rounder. It can thus be
used in working environments as well as for flexibly furnishing class
rooms, conference halls and seminar rooms or canteens.
