Das Haus besitzt einen U-förmigen Grundriss. • The house has a U-shaped layout.

I n einer Siedlung am Stadtrand von Magdeburg entstand nach dem Ent -
wurf des Architekturbüros Sontach ein modernes Einfami lien haus. Es
umschließt an drei Seiten einen nach Süden orientierten In nen hof, in dem
sich ein von außen kaum einsehbarer Swim ming pool ver birgt. Alle Wohn -
räu me des Erdgeschosses öffnen sich über große Glas ele mente zur Was -
ser fläche. Den Schlafräumen im Ober ge schoss sind wiederum zwei große
Dachterrassen auf den lediglich eingeschossig ausgeführten und nach Sü -
den ausgreifenden Trakten des in U-Form organisierten Hauses zugeord-
net. Von Anfang an wünschten sich die Bauherren ein intelligentes Haus
mit möglichst vielen vernetzten Kom ponenten. Parallel zu allen Strom -
leitun gen wurden deshalb auch KNX-Kabel verlegt. Sie bilden das elektro-
nische Nervensystem des Hauses. Ein Gira HomeServe stellt wiederum die
zentrale Steuer ein heit, den „Kopf“, dar. Bei ihm laufen alle In for mationen
zu sam men, werden ausgewertet und entsprechend Befehle an die ver-
schiedenen Aktoren gesandt. So sind praktische Automatik funk tionen
mög lich – etwa die selbstständige Verschattung der Räume bei starker
Son nen ein strah lung. Auch die entsprechende Wetter-Sensorik kam von
Gira. Als Bedien zen trale wurde wiederum ein großer Touchscreen, der
Gira Con trol 19 Client, im Eingangsbereich installiert. Von ihm aus können
Licht quellen geschaltet, Jalousien bewegt und die Temperaturen der ein-
zelnen Räume be stimmt werden. Auch Garten- und Garagentor lassen
sich von hier, aber auch über Smartphone und Tablet, bedienen. ub

towards the south where a swimming pool hides which can barely be
seen from outside. All the living rooms of the ground floor open with
large glass elements to the water surface. The bedrooms on the upper
level, on the other hand, have two large roof terraces on the wings of the
U-shaped building which are designed to have only one storey and pro-
ject towards the south. From the beginning, the clients wanted an intel-
ligent house with as many networked components as possible. This was
why, parallel to all the electrical wiring, KNX cables were installed as
well. They are the electronic nervous system of the building. A Gira
HomeServer represents the central control unit, the “head” as it were.
This is where all types of information continuously converge, are evalua-
ted and the corresponding orders are sent to various “actors”. Practical
automatic functions are thus made possible – such as the automatic sun-
shading of the rooms at times of strong insolation. The appropriate weat-
