Menschen folgen dem selbsternannten Fotografen, Künstler, Autor und Aktivisten in den so-
zialen Netzwerken. Das große Thema von Seph Lawless, einem Pseudonym, sind die Ruinen
unserer modernen Zivilisation. Lawless versteht sich als deren Dokumentarist und gilt als
einer der erfolgreichsten Vertreter des sogenannten Urban Exploring. In seinem aktuellen
Bildband, erschienen Ende Januar, widmet er sich den verlassenen Einkaufszentren seiner
nordamerikanischen Heimat. Wir stellen hier eine Auswahl daraus vor! Was die Fotogra-
fien – ganz nebenbei – auch zeigen: Dass es wohl nicht an der Architektur gelegen hat!

The major topic of Seph Lawless, a pseudonym, are the ruins of our modern civilization.
Lawless sees himself as their documentarist and is considered to be one of the most suc-
cessful representatives of so-called Urban Exploring. In his current illustrated book, pu-
blished at the end of January, he focuses on the abandoned shopping centres of his North-
American homeland. We here present you a selection! What the photographs – quite in-
cidentally – also show: that is has probably not been the fault of the architecture!
