I m Zuge des London Design Festivals 2015 stellte die Künstlerin Faye Toogood ihre
aktuelle Mode- und Möbelkollektion im Somerset House vor. Mithilfe von Kohle -
zeich nungen auf raumhohen Textil bahnen kleidete die Künstlerin den Bestandsraum
in eine fiktive Salon-Szenerie, die den Besucher in eine andere Welt entführt. The draw-
ing room setzt die ausgestellten Produkte in Kombination mit aus Pappe gefertigten
Tierfiguren und gebrauchten Möbel in einen materiell wie dramaturgisch stimmigen
Kontext und erreicht mit einfachsten Mitteln einen in sich geschlossenen Kosmos, der
sich auf sich selbst konzentriert und keinen Kontakt mit der Außenwelt zulässt.

I n the course of the 2015 London Design Festival, artist Faye Toogood presented her
current fashion and furniture collection at Somerset House. By means of charcoal
drawings on floor-to-ceiling textile panels, the artist clad the existing room in a ficti-
tious salon scenery, which carries off the visitors to another world. The drawing room
presents the exhibited products in combination with animal figures made of cardbo-
ard and used furniture in a physically and dramaturgically consistent context; with
very simple means. The design achieves a coherent cosmos focusing on itself and
allows no contact with the outside world.
