Metaraum Architekten realisierten mit dem neuen ZOB eine echte Landmarke im städtischen Verkehr Pforzheims.• With the new ZOB, Metaraum Architekten designed a true landmark for Pforzheim’s urban transport system.

Im Gegensatz zum Gleisbahnhof oder Flughafen ist der Busbahn hof
eine häufig vernachlässigte Bauaufgabe. Zentral gelegen nimmt er in
der R egel einen pr ominenten P latz im Stadtg efüge ein und wir d
damit nicht nur zu einem wichtigen Verkehrsknotenpunkt, sondern
auch zum Bestand teil des öffentlichen Lebens. Wie Bus bahnhöfe zu
Stadt räumen von hoher Qualität und Funktionalität werden können,
zeigen wir anhand beispielha fter P rojekte v on Meta raum Archi -
tekten, Cobe und Gottlieb Paludan Architects sowie Architectus.

Unlike a train station or an airport, a bus station is an v ery often
neglected c onstruction task . Centrally situated, it usuall y has a
prominent position in the urban development and thus frequently
not only becomes an important traffic hub but also an element of
public lif e. W ith e xemplary pr ojects b y Metar aum Architekten,
COBE and Gottlieb P aludan Architects as well as Architectus, we
show how bus stations can turn into urban spaces of high quality
and functionality.
