P rice f(x) in Prag ist ein Unternehmen, das sich auf Preisgestaltungssoftware im Han-
del spezialisiert hat. Viel Mathematik! Daher impliziert der Firmenname auch die
Funktion f(x). Die Corana-bedingte Beschleunigung der Digitalisierung im Online-Geschäft
spielte Price f(x) in die Hände. Zur 2015 eingeweihten Büroebene kam jüngst eine weitere
hinzu. Das Ziel: maximale Flexibilität und die optimale Verbindung beider Geschosse. Stu-
dio collcoll – eine Prager Kooperative aus Architekten, Designern und Forschern – ersann
für den Softwareanbieter eine maßgeschneiderte Lösung. Das neue Herzstück des Price
f(x)-Büros bildet nun eine Pixelkonglomerat, das zusammengesetzt ist aus unzähligen
Sitzwürfel-hohen Holzkuben. Ein Riesen-Möbel? Eine Mega-Plastik? Beides! In der organi-
schen Zellstruktur gibt es Schließfächer, Umkleiden, introvertierte Höhlen, extrovertierte
Nischen mal höher, mal niedriger. Eine Treppe im Pixelpark verbindet beide Geschosse.
Daneben eine Rutsche, für alle, die es abwärts eilig haben. Diverse Meeting- und Pausen-
zonen, eine offene Küche und eine Bar sollen den kreativen Austausch der Mitarbeiter
fördern. Über allem liegt eine filigrane Lichtstruktur, die bis in den Straßenraum hinaus
wirkt. Decke und offene Installationen wurden förmlich schwarz „weggestrichen“. Kein
Bling-Bling, keine schrillen Farben! Stattdessen warmes Holz, kühler Beton, Schwarz- und
Grautöne. Überraschend ungewohnt ist dieses Konzept für ein Digitalunternehmen!

P rice f(x) in Prague is a company specializing in retail-pricing software. Lots of mathe-
matics! Hence the company name also implies the function f(x). The Corona-induced
acceleration of digitization in online business played into Price f(x)’s hands. Another office
level was recently added to the one inaugurated in 2015. The goal: maximum flexibility
and optimal connection of both floors. Studio collcoll – a Prague-based cooperative of
architects, designers and researchers – created a customized solution for the software pro-
vider. The new centrepiece of the Price f(x) office is now a pixel conglomerate composed
of countless cube-high wooden cubes. A giant piece of furniture? A mega-sculpture? Both!
In the organic cell structure there are lockers, changing rooms, introverted caves, extro-
verted niches sometimes higher, sometimes lower. A staircase in the Pixel Park connects
both floors. Next to it is a slide for those who are in a hurry to get down. Various meeting
and break zones, an open kitchen and a bar are intended to promote creative exchange
among employees. Above everything lies a filigree light structure that extends into the
street space. Ceilings and open installations were literally crossed out in black. No bling-
bling, no flashy colours! Instead, warm wood, cool concrete, black and grey tones. This
concept is surprisingly unusual for a digital company!
