it der neuen Bürostuhlfamilie macht Interstuhl den Namen zum
Programm: „Joy“ und „Choice“ sollen in ihrer Kombination für Freu -

de und Wahlfreiheit stehen. Der Fokus liegt dabei vor allen Dingen auf den
unterschiedlichen Ausführungen der Rückenlehne des Bürodreh stuhls. Mit
einer klassischen Polsterausführung, einer Netz-Strick-Version oder der
Softback-Variante ergeben sich drei unterschiedliche Variatio nen. Mag
man es nun lieber weich und gepolstert oder luftig und fe dernd? Die Wahl
bleibt den eigenen Wünschen und Vorlieben überlassen. Ge mein sam
haben jedoch alle Ausführungen das integrierte FlexGrid. Diese flexible
Gitter struk tur soll die Krümmung der menschlichen Wirbel säule während
des Arbeitstages im Büro mit Flexibilität und Stabilität unterstützen.. Für
die futuristisch anmutende For menspra che des Stuhls ist der aus Havanna
stammende, freiberufliche Möbeldesigner Daniel Figueroa verantwortlich.
Ge rade im Büromöbelbereich hat Figueroa be reits einige Pro dukte entwik-
kelt. Dabei versucht er die ergonomische Funk tio n seiner Mö bel in der
Gestaltung sichtbar werden zu lassen. Ähn lich verhält es sich bei Joyceis3.
Die rückwärtig sichtbare Struktur spiegelt die menschliche Anato mie
wider – entsprechend dem Aufbau einer Wirbel säule mit ihrem muskulä-
ren Gefüge. Somit liefert Figueroa gewissermaßen einen Einblick in die
optimierte Aufrichtung des Rückens während ei ner sitzenden Tätig keit.
Zugleich erschafft er mit dem Aussehen dieser Rücken lehne fein gliedrige

und spannende Akzente in unterschiedlichen Bürokonzepten. kg
ith the new range of office chairs, Interstuhl turns the name into
a programme: In the combination of the two words for the chair’s

name, “joy” and “choice” are to stand for pleasure and the freedom to
choose. The focus is, above all, on the different versions of the backrest of
the swivel office chair. With a classic upholstered model, a mesh/knitted
fabric version or the Softback variant, three different variations result. So,
do you prefer it to be soft and upholstered or airy and elastic? The choice
depends on one’s own wishes and tastes. What all the variants have in
common, however, is the integrated FlexGrid. This flexible grid structure is
to support the curvature of the human spine with flexibility and stability
throughout the working day in the office. The freelance furniture designer
Daniel Figueroa, who is originally from Havana, created the futurist-loo-
king design vocabulary of the chair. Figueroa has already designed several
products especially in the sector of office furniture. In the process, he
always tries to let the ergonomic function of his furniture become visible
in the design. Joyceis3 is a similar case. The structure visible at the back
reflects the human anatomy – it corresponds to the formation of a spine
with its muscles. Thus Figueroa, as it were, provides an insight into the
optimal posture of the back during sedentary activities. With the look of
this backrest, he at the same time produces filigree and appealing accents
for various office concepts.
