Weiß gestrichene Holzlatten beleben die Fassade. • Wooden slats enliven the façade.
• The technology is concealed under the suspended ceiling.
Auch Pfosten-Riegelfassade und Boden bestehen aus Baubuche. • The post-and-mullion façade and the floor consists of BauBuche. S ince 2006, a 70-hectare city district for working, residing and
living with a large green element is being developed in Augsburg
on the site of the former US Sheridan barracks. In this setting, local
architect Frank Lattke recently built the new headquarters of the eure-
gon AG software company. In addition to a flexible structure, the main
aim for the premises of the constantly growing enterprise was a plea-
sant room climate. To guarantee both, the architect decided to use ske-
leton construction for the three-storey building with local beech pro-
cessed into BauBuche and thus create the first building whose suppor-
ting structure consists completely of laminated wood with a high sta-
bility and a comparatively small cross-section of the building compo-
nents. Behind white-painted wooden slats on the south side, a two-
metre deep balcony enlarges the rooms on the outside and, at the
same time, protects the workstations from direct insolation. Inside, the
bright wood of the construction left visible with the typical veneer lay-
ers of BauBuche characterizes the spatial impression in the stringent
structure. On each level, the offices are accessed via a 2.4-metre wide
central corridor; in this section, the building technology is concealed
under the suspended ceiling. Fitted into the building grid, the working-
