Mit der Ausstellung MCMXXXIV feierte der Galerist Massimo De
Carlo im Frühjahr die Eröffnung seiner neuen Ausstellungsräume in
Mailand. Die liegen im Erdgeschoss der Casa Corbellini-Wasser-
mann, eines großbürgerlichen Wohnhauses des High-Society-Archi-
tekten Piero Portaluppi aus den 1930er-Jahren. Der Ausstellungstitel –
übersetzt: 1934 – verweist auf das Jahr der Grund steinlegung. Lorenzo
Bini hat die opulenten Wohnräume im vergangenen Jahr saniert und
die für den Galeriebetrieb notwendige Technik sensibel eingefügt.

In spring, the gallery owner Massimo De Carlo celebrated the ope-
ning of his new showrooms in Milan with the show entitled
MCMXXXIV. The rooms are on the ground floor of Casa Corbellini-
Wassermann, a bourgeois residential building designed by the
high-society architect Piero Portaluppi in the 1930s. The exhibition
title –1934 in Roman numbers – refers to the year of the ground-
breaking. Last year, Lorenzo Bini renovated the opulent living spa-
ces and added the infrastructure for running the gallery.
