design by Philipp Mainzer/e15. When it comes to fashion, there is Hayashi (13) for
the ladies and MBCY (14) for the gentlemen.
r 7.30 p.m. – Our all-time favourite for eating out is the Bar Shuka (15) of David and
James Ardinast where the table quickly fills with all kinds of delicacies of modern Is-
raeli cuisine. For special occasions, we go to the Stanley Diamond (16) restaurant.

Sunday: dinosaurs, palm trees and design by Dieter Rams

r 10 a.m. – On our bikes, we make our way in the direction of Bockenheim and the
Westend, past the university buildings designed by the Frankfurt architect Ferdinand
Kramer. The Senckenberg Naturmuseum (17) with its extensive collection of dino-
saur skeletons ranks first for our seven-year-old son. We also love the Palmengarten Werke regionaler Künstler runden im Restaurant Stanley Diamond (16) die gehobene Hausmannskost ab.

class exhibition buildings. One of our favourites is the Städel Museum (19) combi-
ning 700 years of art history in the magnificent neo-Renaissance building with an ex-
tension by schneider + schumacher. We also love the MAK Museum Angewandte
Kunst (20) in the striking, white building designed by Richard Meier in 1985 also sho-
wing numerous objects by the design legend Dieter Rams.
r 3 p.m – Somewhat further along the Main, the sculpture collection in the Liebieg-
haus (21) is definitely worth a visit, with a break afterwards in the charming café.
Surrounded by one of Frankfurt’s most attractive gardens, the former Wilhelminian-
style villa of Baron von Liebieg has an excellent collection of about 3,000 sculptures
             from Ancient Egypt to Classicism.
r 4 p.m. – On the weekend, we regularly visit Offenbach and the family of Dimitrios.
Biking there, we like to stop at Gerbermühle (22) with its outdoor restaurant right
             on the Main.
r 7 p.m – Having passed the Offenbach city hall, an excellent example of the Bruta-
lism of the 1960s, we traditionally let the evening and thus also the weekend come
to a pleasant in the Taverna Megaron (23) in Wilhelmsplatz.
