HOTEL REITERS SUPREME
IN BAD TATZMANNSDORF
Located between Vienna and Graz, the Hotel Reiters Sup-
reme attracts guests with its many amenities. One glance
at the list of offers and the included services is sufficient
to know that this is a place to truly relax and enjoy your-
self. The new Premium Luxury Suites, designed by BEHF
Architects, are the icing on the cake and promise luxury
that is presented here in its simplest form.
Y ou’ll definitely have to dig deep into your pockets if you want to
stay in one of the new Premium Luxury Suites at the Hotel Reiters
Supreme in Southern Burgenland, Austria. The spatial composition is
dominated by restraint and minimalism, by focusing on the essentials,
as well as on efficiency and a willingness to create true qualities. At
over a thousand euros per night, the suites definitely fall into the luxury
accommodation category. However, measuring 93 square metres each,
the suites are also extremely spacious – before the renovation, the same
area had been divided into three suites. But it’s certainly not just the
size alone that makes these rooms so luxurious; it’s the interior-design
Grundriss Suite vor Erneuerung • Floor plan suite before renovation concept, which was created by the Viennese firm BEHF Architects. The
flowing, interconnecting areas can be elegantly separated as required by
pivot doors that are made of local ash wood – either milled and textured
or as transparent lattice elements. This type of wood, which also defines
the suites in the form of floorboards, suspended ceilings, wall panelling
and built-in furniture, has been combined with colour-coordinated tra-
vertine that comes from South Tyrol. Slightly darker clay plaster extends
the concept of natural materials. This allows all areas of use to merge
into one: entrance-, living-, dining-, sleeping- and bathroom areas. In
the entrance area, a “fountain” provides a genuinely unusual welcome.
The bed and sofa were designed by BEHF Architects in collaboration
with Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten. Two special features of these suites
should not go unmentioned: firstly, a wall bar with various sports equip-
ment has been integrated to encourage physical activity, and secondly,
a so-called ofuro, a traditional Japanese wooden bathtub. If the priva-
te sports- and wellness facilities in the suites are not enough, guests
also have access to a 9,000 square-metre wellness area on the hotel
grounds, including nine pools, some with thermal water, a sports pool,
a natural swimming pond and an extensive range of great massage- and
beauty treatments. Guests who want to pamper themselves surrounded
by nature and with a view of Tatzmannsdorf should head for the follo-
