Alessandro Borghese founded his own catering- and consulting com-
pany in Milan. Thanks to his skills in cooking and self-marketing –
also thanks to numerous cooking programmes, three books and
plenty of presence on the social-media channels – the busy 41-year-
old is a star in Italy. In summer 2017 and in Viale Belisario in Milan,
the chef opened his restaurant called “Alessandro Borghese – Il lusso
de la semplicità“. As to the cuisine, the name promises the “luxury
of simplicity”. The 700-square-metre restaurant evokes the splendour
on giant transatlantic ocean liners of the 1930s. Borghese’s multi-sen-
sory cuisine combined of taste, aroma and look is also reflected
by the interior. Wood-, marble-, metal- and granite décors from
the Neolith collections produce a well-coordinated mixture of colours
and contrasts. The worktops of the bar made of sintered stone and
the table tops consist of Neolith Calacatta Silk and Neolith Blanco
Carrara. Chef Borghese is thrilled by the possibility of “working
right on the worktop with oil, vegetables, fish and meat” since the
Neolith tops are hygienic and easy to clean. “There are no scratches
and stains and no odours remain.”
