B ei der Auswahl und Kreation ihrer Weine setzt die Winzerfamilie
Frühwirth im österreichischen Klöch auf die Balance zwischen
Tradition und Moderne. Auch architektonisch verfolgt sie diesen Ansatz:
Architekt Michael Maier aus Fohnsdorf hat die Renovierung des über 100
Jahre alten Kellers, des ehemaligen Presshauses des Wein guts, geplant
und die moderne Verköstigungs- sowie Präsentationsfläche über den
alten Gemäuern entworfen. Ebenso wie bei dem Wein geschäft der
Frühwirths in Teesdorf (siehe AIT 12.2015), das ebenfalls Maier entwarf,
bestimmen auch den neuen Verkösti gungsraum auf dem Weingut die
Materialien Glas und Eichenholz. In die Landschaft eingebettet und
durch ein transparentes Dach vor Witterung geschützt, öffnet sich die
großzügige Fläche über breite Treppen gegenüber den Wein bergen. So
entsteht ein enger Bezug zur Um gebung. Zu dem kehrt das Weinblatt als
Motiv im Innenraum immer wieder. Während die Verköstigungsfläche –
die sogenannte Buschenschank – lichtdurchflutet und offen wirkt, ist der
Keller mit Gewölbe und Back stein uriger belassen. Hier steht eine antike
Baum presse, die Familiengeschichte wird erzählt und gläserne Wein -
regale kontrastieren zur bedächtigen At mos phäre. Die Sanitärräume wie-
derum überraschen mit minimalistischer Gestaltung in Weiß- und Grau -
tönen: Ein drei Meter langer Waschtisch aus Corian in der Farbe Elegant
Gray wurde fugenlos mit zwei trichterförmigen Wasch becken un ter baut –
umgesetzt von der Mehringer Industrie-Manufaktur Hasenkopf. ds
I making family from Klöch in Austria counts on the balance between
traditional and modern. As regards architecture, this approach is also
taken: Architect Michael Maier from Fohnsdorf planned the renovation
of the cellar, which is more than 100 years old and the former press
house of the winery, and designed the modern tasting- as well as pre-
sentation area above the old walls. As in the wine shop of the Frühwirts
in Teesdorf (see AIT 12.2015), also designed by Maier, the new tasting
room on the wine estate as well is characterized by the materials glass
and oak. Embedded in the landscape and protected from the weather
by a transparent roof, the generous space opens with wide stairs towards
the vineyards. A close connection to the surroundings is thus created.
The vine leaf as a motif is also found again and again inside. While the
tasting area – the so-called Buschenschank – looks light-flooded and
open, the cellar with the vault and bricks has been left more rustic. Here
stands an antique Roman wine press, the family history is being told and
glass wine shelves contrast with the sedate atmosphere. The sanitary
rooms, on the other hand, surprise with a minimalist design in tones of
white and grey: A gap-free washstand of Corian measuring three metres
in length in the colour Elegant Gray has two funnel-shaped washbasins
– made possible by the industrial manufactory Hasenkopf in Mehringen.
