D as kürzeste Entwurfskonzept ist drei Buchstaben lang und kommt aus Indien. Für
die digitale Nachrichtenplattform Vibes of India, kurz VOI, gestaltete Studio Saransh
minimalistische Büroräume in der Millionenstadt Ahmedabad. Doch ist es ein anderes
Drei-Buchstaben-Akronym, auf das Kaveesha Shah und ihr Team die Vibes (des bunten)
Indiens reduzierten. Die Konzeptidee geht auf die Dreifarbentheorie mit Rot, Grün und
Blau zurück: Jeder Bereich des Büros wurde in einer dieser Grundfarben gestaltet. Sie be-
decken dabei nicht nur die Wände, sondern auch den Boden, die Decke, die Möbel und
Leuchten. Die Architektinnen nutzten die Monochromie gezielt zur Zonierung, wobei die
Übergänge stets linear sind. Und trotz der nahezu identischen Gestaltungstechnik entste-
hen so ganz unterschiedliche Raumatmosphären. Während intensives Rot eine energeti-
sierende Wirkung hat, fördert Grün die Kreativität. Blau wiederum schafft eine entspan-
nende Stimmung. Bei der fast schon erdrückenden Omnipräsenz der Farbe rückt die
ebenso allgegenwärtige Form des Rechtecks etwas in den Hintergrund. Das Resultat ist
eine klare und funktionale Innenarchitektur, die durch ihre geometrische Ordnung und
kohärente Ästhetik besticht und die Qualität der Arbeitsbedingungen steigert. Lediglich
der Pausenbereich in reinem Weiß scheint sich von dem strengen Farbkonzept zu befreien.
Irrtum, denn die additive Mischung der drei Farben ergibt einen Weißraum! RGB – Ende.

T he shortest design concept is three letters long and comes from India. Studio Sa-
ransh designed minimalist office space in the megacity of Ahmedabad for the digital
news platform Vibes of India, or VOI for short. But it is another three-letter acronym to
which Kaveesha Shah and her team reduced the vibes (of colourful) India. The concept
idea goes back to the primary colours red, green and blue: each area of the office was
designed in one of these primary colours. They were applied not only to the walls, but
also to the floor, the ceiling, the furniture and the lights. The architects deliberately used
the monochrome design for zoning, whereby the transitions are always linear. And de-
spite the almost identical design technique, this creates very different room atmospheres.
While intense red has an energising effect, green promotes creativity. Blue, on the other
hand, evokes a relaxing mood. With the almost overwhelming omnipresence of colour,
the equally omnipresent shape of the rectangle recedes somewhat into the background.
The result is a clear and functional interior design that impresses with its geometric order
and coherent aesthetics and enhances the quality of the working conditions. Only the
break area in pure white seems to break free from the strict colour concept. Wrong, be-
cause the additive mixture of the three colours results in a white space! RGB — end.
