D as Luminary gilt mit 70 Metern Höhe seit seiner Fertigstellung 2018
als eines der imposantesten Wohngebäude Finnlands und als
neue Landmarke der Großstadt Tampere. Neben gehobenem Wohnstan-
dard mit spektakulären Ausblicken über die Skyline und das malerische
Seenpanorama bietet das 21-stöckige Hochhaus auch Raum für Gastro-
nomie, Einzelhandel, Ferienwohnungen und Parkdecks. Das ortsansäs-
sige Architekturbüro BST Arkkitehdit übernahm nach gewonnenem
Wettbewerb die Planung und Realisierung des Neubaus, während Stu-
dio MAK aus Helsinki für die Innenarchitektur verantwortlich war. Ins-
besondere bei der Konzeption der Privatwohnungen standen die Schlag-
worte Licht und Weite im Fokus. So wurde als Erweiterung der großzü-
gigen Fassaden-Verglasung Wert auf Wohngrundrisse mit starken Sicht-
achsen gelegt, die das eindrucksvolle Panorama bis tief ins Gebäude-
innere holen. Eine Schlüsselrolle bei diesem Konzept spielte für die Pla-
ner vor allem die Gestaltung der Raumübergänge. Innenarchitektin Anna
Katriina Tilli erklärt dazu: „Die Dimensionierung von Türen kann eine
große Herausforderung sein. In diesem Fall waren die (...) Modelle von
Eclisse eine besondere Hilfe.“ MAK stattet in der Konsequenz alle Woh-
nungen mit Schiebetüren aus, deren Türelemente unsichtbar in der
Wand verschwinden. Die Raumgefüge gewinnen damit an Möbelstellflä-
che und können dennoch bei Bedarf visuell und akustisch voneinander
getrennt werden. Keine Frage: Eine ästhetische wie effektive Lösung! hs

W ith a height of 70 metres, since its completion in 2018 the Lu-
minary has been one of the most striking residential buildings
in Finland and a new landmark of Tampere. Besides the upscale living
standard with spectacular views across the skyline and the pictures-
que lakes, the 21-storey high-rise building also has space for restau-
rants, retail trade, vacation flats and parking decks. Having won the
competition, the local BST Arkkitehdit architectural office took on the
planning and the implementation of the building whereas the MAK
studio from Helsinki was responsible for the interior design. Particu-
larly for the private flats, the keywords light and expanse were in the
focus. As an extension of the generous façade glazing, importance was
attached to the flat layouts with strong visual axes which bring the im-
pressive panorama deep into the building interior. For the planners, a
key role in this concept was above all played by the design of the
room transitions. Interior designer Anna Katriina Tilli explains: “The
dimensioning of doors can be a major challenge. In this case, the (…)
models by Eclisse have been a special help.” As a consequence, MAK
equipped all the flats with sliding doors whose door elements disap-
pear in the wall. The spatial structures thus have more space for fur-
niture and yet, if needed, can be separated. No question: a solution
equally appealing and effective!
