2 Zur Hauptstraße Wohnhochhaus, zur Seite Blockrandbebauung, nach hinten Stadt -
haus – das Projekt Axis in Frankfurt am Main verbindet verschiedene Gebäude- und
Wohnformen für eine heterogene Zielgruppen. Während sich zur Europaalleee im Nor -
den ein 60 Meter hoher, 19-geschossiger Wohnturm aufrichtet, treppt sich das Gebäude -
ensemble nach Süden bis auf die Höhe der angrenzenden Reihen haus bebauung ab. Der
im Grundriss rechteckige, innen jedoch ausgehöhlte Solitär wurde vom ortsansässigen
Ar chitekturbüro Meixner Schlüter Wendt geplant. Für die Straßenfassade des Turms aus
weißem Kalkstein entwarf es eine scheinbar freie Anordnung der zweigeschossig zu -
sammengefassten Fensteröffnungen, sodass die wahre Geschossigkeit verschleiert wird.
Im Inneren des Gebäuderings findet ein anderes Fassadenspiel statt: Außen bereiche
unterschied lichster Größen und Formen bilden eine vielfältige Balkon- und Log gien land -
schaft. Diversität ist auch im Gebäude in neren Programm – vom niedrigen bis zum hohen
Preissegment, von 45 bis zu 280 Qua drat metern ist bei den Wohnungen al les vertreten.
Dabei sind die Grundrisse nach möglichst vielen Seiten ausgerichtet, sodass weite
Ausblicke und Durchwohnen ermöglicht werden. Als Begegnungsorte für die Bewohner
dienen die zentrale Eingangshalle, halböffentliche Bereiche und der be grünte Gartenhof.
Durch die zahlreichen Wohn formen und Gemeinschaftsbereiche entstand ei ne Form von
Offene Grundrisse lassen den Blick frei auf die Stadt. • Open floor plans allow an unobstructed view of the city. Stadt in der Stadt, die je nach Pers pektive andere Dimensionen zu haben scheint. ds

In Richtung Süden treppt sich das Wohnhochhaus ab. • Towards the south, the residential high-rise is stepped. 2 Towards the main street a residential high-rise, towards the side a perimeter block,
towards the back a town house – the AXIS project combines various types of build-
ings and living for a heterogeneous target group. Whereas towards Europa-Allee to the
north a 60 metres high, 19-storey residential tower rises, towards the south the building
ensemble is stepped down to the height of the adjacent row-house development. The
solitaire with a rectangular ground plan but hollow on the inside was designed by the
local Meixner Schlüter Wendt architectural office. For the street façade of the tower con-
structed of white limestone, they designed a seemingly free composition of two-level
windows. Inside the ring-shaped building there is a different play on the theme of
façades: Outside spaces in a variety of dimensions and forms create a varied landscape
of balconies and loggias. Diversity is also the intention inside the building – from the low
to the high price segment, from 45 to 280 square metres, when it comes to apartments,
there’s everything. The layouts are arranged towards as many directions as possible so
that wide views and free circulation become possible. Meeting places for the residents
are the central entrance hall, semi-public areas and the planted courtyard. Thanks to the
numerous types of residences and the community areas, a kind of city in the city result-
ed which appears to have different dimensions depending on the perspective.
