How long is now? Die Frage prangte lange Jahre an der offenen Ost-
flanke des Kunsthauses Tacheles in Berlin-Mitte. Seit Kurzem ist das
Graffito verschwunden – die Brachfläche hinter dem legendären, einst
besetzten Kulturtreff wurde mit eleganten Wohn- und Geschäftshäu-
sern nachverdichtet. Herzstück des neuen, luxuriösen Quartiers „Am
Tacheles“ ist das denkmalgeschützte Tacheles selbst, das jetzt ein pri-
vat geführtes Fotografiemuseum beherbergt. Die Innenarchitektur im
historischen Kontext stammt von studio aisslinger aus Berlin.

How long is now? This question was emblazoned on the open eas-
tern side of Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin-Mitte for years. Recently,
the graffiti disappeared – the vacant plot behind the legendary, once
squatted cultural centre has been infilled with elegant residential
and commercial buildings. The centrepiece of the new, luxurious
Am Tacheles quarter is the listed Tacheles itself, which now houses
