S eit 111 Jahren verwöhnt die Familie Sporer in der Salzburger Altstadt ihre Kunden mit
ei gens hergestelltem Punsch und Likören. Dementsprechend nostalgisch mutet das
be reits 1905 bezogene Geschäft in der Getreidegasse mit dem Gewölbe und den dunklen
Holz re galen an. Doch in der Zeit stehen geblieben sind weder das Sortiment noch die
Ver mark tung der flüssigen Köstlichkeiten. So können diese seit Jahren auch online
bestellt oder im vor Kurzem neu errichtetem Ver kaufs raum er stan den werden, der direkt
der Ma nu fak tur an ge gliedert ist. Im Gewerbegebiet in Salzburg-Max glan gelegen, gestal-
tete ihn das ortsansässige Ar chi tekturbüro hobby a. schuster & maul als Spagat zwischen
Tra di tion und Moderne: Während Sichtbetonwände die monolithisch wirkende Hülle für
den über sechs Meter hohen Ver kaufsraum bilden, erinnern innen ge beiz te, in der Tiefe
va ri ierende Eichen holz regale an die Ein rich tung des Stand ortes in der Getreide gasse. Zu -
gleich wie der holt sich der Sichtbeton der Wän de in Bar und Dis play mö beln. Für ein ver-
spieltes Moment wiederum sorgt die Licht skulptur über dem Tresen. Sie wurde aus teils
über 100 Jahre alten, wei ßen und grün tönigen Flaschen und Glasballons des Sporer-
Sortiments gestaltet – auch das alte Steingutfass im Bereich der Ab füll anlage ent stammt
dem Unternehmensbestand. Trotz all dieser Details bleiben Punsch und Co. dank natür-
licher Materialien sowie sanfter Farbigkeit die Hauptakteure im Verkaufsraum.

F or 111 years and in the historical centre of Salzburg, the Sporer family has been treat-
ing its customers to home-made punch and liqueurs. The store in Getreidegasse,
opened already in 1905 and with the vaulted ceiling and dark wooden shelves has a cor-
responding nostalgic appearance. But time has neither stood still regarding the range nor
the marketing of the liquid delicacies. Thus, for many years now, they can also be
ordered online or bought in the recently constructed sales room which is directly adja-
cent to the manufactory. The local architectural office hobby a. schuster & maul designed
the store – situated in the industrial zone in Salzburg-Maxglan – as a bridge between the
traditional and the modern: While exposed-concrete walls are the monolithic-looking
envelope of the sales room with a height of more than six metres, inside stained oak
shelves varying in their depths remind of the furnishing of the location in Getreidegasse.
At the same time, the exposed concrete of the walls is repeated in the bar and in the dis-
play furniture. The light sculpture above the counter adds a playful element. It was
designed from more than 100 years old white and greenish bottles and carboys from the
Sporer range – the old stoneware vat in the area of the filling station also comes from the
company inventory. Thanks to natural materials and soft colours, however, punch and
co. are still the protagonists in the sales room despite all these details.
