1 Friseurmeister Apostolos Bailas hat sich ein Reich geschaffen, in dem nur er selbst zur
Schere greift. Als Konsequenz wird in seinem eigenen Salon immer nur ein Kunde
bedient und erhält dementsprechend ein exklusives, gänzlich auf ihn zugeschnittenes
Ser vice pro gramm. Die Räumlichkeiten für diese ganz besondere „One-Man-Show“ gestal-
tete das interdisziplinäre Kreativteam von Betty und Betty. Die 44 Quadratmeter große La -
denfläche im Düssel dorfer Zoo viertel erhielt dafür, gemäß dem Firmenslogan „I’m the
new black“ eine geradlinig elegante und selbstbewusst moderne Ausgestaltung in
Schwarz und Grau. Hinzu kommen verschiedene Holzober flächen und zahlreiche Spiegel
in unterschiedlichen Größen. Anthrazitfarbene und licht graue Wand an striche unter teilen
da bei den fast vier Meter hohen Raum kontrastreich in drei Nutzungszonen: einen an der
Straße gelegenen Empfangs- und Warte be reich, einen zentralen Ser vice bereich mit
Wasch- und Frisier stuhl so wie einen Bereich für das Anmischen von Färbemitteln und die
WC-Anlage. Um dem Salon einen homogenen, aber auch individuellen Look zu geben,
ent wickelten die Planer auf der Basis von schwarz lackierten Rundrohren maßangefertig-
te, besonders luftig wirkende Möblierungselemente, die möglichst viel Tageslicht ins
Raum innere lassen und den Salon um hochwertige Details ergänzen. So entstanden ein
Tisch für Beratungs gesprä che, ein Präsentations re gal für Pflege pro dukte und ein abgepen-
deltes Decken system für die Umset zung eines einheitlichen Beleuchtungs konzeptes. hs

1 Hairdresser Apostolos Bailas has had a realm created for himself, where only he
reaches for the scissors. Consequently, only one customer is attended to in his salon
and enjoys an exclusive, absolutely tailored service programme. The interiors for this very
special “one-man show” were designed by the interdisciplinary creative team of Betty
und Betty. For this purpose, the 44-square metre shop area in Düsseldorf’s Zoo District
was finished, according to the company slogan of “I’m the new black”, with a straight,
elegant and self-conscious modern interior design in black and grey. This design is com-
plemented with different wooden surfaces and numerous mirrors of various sizes. High-
contrast anthracite-coloured and light grey paint coats on the walls subdivide the almost
four metre high room in three utilisation zones: a reception and waiting area along the
street side, a central service area with shampoo and hairdressing chair as well as a zone
accommodating an space for mixing hair dyes and toilet facilities. To give the salon a
homogeneous as well as individual look, the planners developed custom-made, espe-

allow plenty of daylight into the interior and add high-quality details to the salon. The

and a suspended ceiling system for the implementation of the uniform lighting concept.
