Das Olympiabad George-Vallerey konnte anlässlich der Olympischen
Sommerspiele in Paris seinen 100. Geburtstag feiern. AIA Life Desig-
ners haben das Traditionsbad saniert und umgebaut, sodass dort ab
März für die Wettkämpfe trainiert werden konnte. Die komplexe Auf-
gabe des Pariser Büros bestand darin, ein Monument der Sportge-
schichte zu sanieren und gleichzeitig den Erfordernissen der heutigen
Zeit anzupassen. Eine Besonderheit des Hallenbades ist das Schie-
bedach, das es je nach Wetter erlaubt, „oben ohne“ zu schwimmen.

The George-Vallerey Olympic Pool celebrated its 100th birthday on
the occasion of the Summer Olympics in Paris. AIA Life Designers
have renovated and converted the traditional pool so that training
for the competitions could take place there starting in March. The
complex task for the Parisian firm was to renovate a monument of
sports history while simultaneously adapting it to modern require-
ments. A special feature of the indoor swimming pool is the sliding
roof, which allows “topless” swimming depending on the weather.
