M ähren blickt auf eine lange Weinbautradition zurück. Angesiedelt ist dort, in
Dobšice, auch das noch junge, 2003 gegründete Weingut Lahofer, das sich zu
einer der größten Winzereien in Tschechien entwickelt hat. Lahofer bewirtschaftet
mehr als 430 Hektar Land und produziert über eine halbe Million Flaschen pro Jahr.
Chybík+ Krištof Architects & Urban Designers durften dieses Weingut im vergangenen
Jahr um zwei Produktionshallen, einen Verwaltungstrakt sowie einen Showroom
erweitern. Der Entwurf ist ein Spiegel der Landschaft. Mährens sanft modulierte
Topografie findet sich in einer begehbaren, abgetreppten und wellenförmigen Dach-
landschaft wieder. Diese ist das Herzstück des Projekts: Sie ist Open-Air-Bühne für
Veranstaltungen und Aussichtsterrasse zugleich, denn die Weinberge liegen dem Be-
sucher unmittelbar zu Füßen. Unter diesem Dach vermittelt eine „Kolonnade“ bogen-
förmiger Betonrippen den Eindruck eines traditionellen Weinkellers. Der Rhythmus
der Betonrippen korrespondiert mit jenem der Weinstockreihen, die direkt vor den
großzügigen Glasfassaden gedeihen. Ein Deckengemälde des tschechischen Künstlers
Patrik Hábl in Rot-, Schwarz-, Beige- und Brauntönen greift das Farbspektrum der

lokalen Erde auf. Ondrej Chybík und Michal Krištof sagen: „Der Entwurf des Weinguts

Also located there, in Dobšice, is the young Lahofer winery which was esta-
blished in 2003 and has become one of the major wineries in the Czech Republic.
Lahofer cultivates more than 430 hectares and produces more than half a million
bottles per year. Last year, Chybík + Krištof Architects & Urban Designers had been
commissioned to expand this winery with two new production halls, an administra-
tion wing as well as a showroom. The design cleverly mirrors the surrounding land-
scape. Moravia’s softly undulating topography is found again in a walkable, stepped
and wavy roofscape. This is the definitely the striking heart of the whole project: It
is an open-air stage for events and a panoramic terrace at the same time since the
vineyards extend right at the feet of the visitor. Under this roof, a “colonnade” of
arch-shaped concrete ribs is suggestive of a traditional wine cellar. The rhythm of the
concrete ribs corresponds with that of the rows of grapevines thriving immediately
in front of the generous glass façades. A ceiling painting by the Czech artist Patrik
Hábl in tones of red, black, beige and brown takes up the colour spectrum of the
