Städtische Fassaden und Elemente aus dem Naturraum verbinden sich in der Gestaltung der Emsgalerie. • Urban façades and elements from the natural environment combine in the design of the Emsgalerie.

Vor zwei Jahren eröffnete die von RKW Architektur + geplante Ems ga -
le rie in Rheine. Der Entwurf zielte auf eine verträgliche Ein bin dung in
die Stadt und den angrenzenden Naturraum ab. Zudem sollte der Neu -
bau ökologisch und ökonomisch nachhaltig funktionieren. Die Ener -
gie effizienz spielte dabei eine wich tige Rolle. Um gesetzt wurde die ge -
sam te elektrotechnische Aus rüstung mit Schnei der Electric. Nach zwei
Jahren hat sich die Ge samt lösung – aus einer Hand – gerade unter den
komplexen Betriebsabläufen einer Shoppingmall mehr als bewährt.

The Emsgalerie in Rheine designed by RKW Architektur + opened two
years ago. The goal of the design was a compatible integration into the
city and bordering natural environment. In addition, the new building
was to be environment friendly and economically sustainable. Energy
efficiency played a major role in this. The complete electrotechnical
equipment was implemented with Schneider Electric. Two years later,
the overall solution – from one source – has optimally stood the test,
precisely in the complex operational processes of a shopping mall.
