I m französischen Montpellier ragt der baumartige Wohnturm L’Ar-
bre Blanc in die Höhe. Gebaut vom Tokioter Architekturbüro von
Sou Fujimoto, beherbergt er neben zahlreichen Apartments ein öffent-
lich zugängliches Restaurant. Die Einrichtung dessen übernahm die
Architektin Pauline Percheron. Prägend für den Entwurf ist die Syn-
these aus unterschiedlich verarbeitetem Holz und Weißtönen mit ver-
schiedenen Texturen. Auch die Decke sollte sich diesem Konzept un-
terordnen und in einem gleichmäßigen Weiß erstrahlen. Eine Heraus-
forderung stellten die Anforderungen an die Deckenkonstruktion dar:
Sie sollte ein Klimasystem mit einer Vielzahl an Lüftungsrohren unter-
bringen und das bei einer Tiefe von gerade einmal 20 Zentimetern.
Prädestiniert für ein solches Einsatzgebiet ist die Klimadecke Clim von
Barrisol. Hergestellt werden diese mit biobasierter Folie mit Weichma-
chern auf Getreidebasis und firmeneigenem, patentiertem Alumini-
umprofil. Eine Kombination aus Strahlungs- und Konvektionssystem
heizt, kühlt und belüftet Räume leise und gleichmäßig und verzichtet
dabei auf sichtbare Lüftungsauslässe. Gegenüber herkömmlichen Lüf-
tungsanlagen kann mithilfe der Clim eine bis zu zehnprozentige Ener-
gieeinsparung erzielt werden. Möglich ist neben der Integration von
Tontechnik, Beleuchtung und Beamern auch eine Realisierung, die be-

tural office of Sou Fujimoto, it accommodates numerous apartments
and a restaurant that is open to the public. The interior was designed
by the architect Pauline Percheron. Her design is characterised by a
synthesis of differently processed wood and shades of white with dif-
ferent textures. The ceiling was also conceived in keeping with this in-
terior concept and shines in a uniform white. The demands on the cei-
ling construction posed a challenge: it had to accommodate an air-
conditioning system with a large number of ventilation pipes — and
that despite the overall depth of only 20 centimetres. The Clim air-
handling ceilings from Barrisol is predestined for such an application.
These are manufactured with bio-based film with cereal-based plasti-
cizers and the company's own patented aluminium profile. A combi-
nation of radiation and convection system heats, cools and ventilates
rooms quietly and evenly, without visible ventilation outlets. Compa-
red to conventional ventilation systems, Clim is able to achieve energy
savings of up to ten percent. In addition to the integration of sound
technology, lighting fixtures and beamers, it is also possible to imple-
ment a system that is printed or acoustically effective. Another advan-
tage of the Barrisol air-handling ceiling is its low maintenance.
