technische Eigenschaften – robust, rutschhemmend, abriebfest – erschließen jetzt neue
realisierte Feinsteinzeug in Holzoptik.
Arabischen Emirate. Mit der Übernahme der Gruppe Welor Kerama wird Marazzi 2005
Marktführer in Russland.
der New Yorker Börse notierten Konzern Mohawk Industries. In knapp fünf Jahren wer-
S outh of Modena, in Sassuolo, Filippo Marazzi founded Marazzi Ceramiche in 1935.
From the outset, Marazzi was a designer, willing to invest and open to new tech-
nologies. The "four-curve tile" presented at the Milan Triennale in 1960 together with
the architects Gio Ponti and Alberto Rosselli is now a classic! In the 1970s, Marazzi com-
missioned famous fashion designers, including Paco Rabanne, to create the "Alta
Moda" collection. At the same time, Marazzi developed the patent for the "fast firing
process", the most widely used production process in the world. In the following de- Mystone Moon und D_Segni Blend (unten) ... • Mystone Moon and D_Segni Blend (bottom) ...
cade, Pietro Marazzi pushed ahead with internationalisation with production facilities
in the USA and Spain. In 1989, Marazzi acquired Ceramica Ragno, the number 2 in Ita-
lian ceramics production. A patent application was filed for "Enduro" in 1985: superior ... basieren auf der neuesten Stepwise-Technologie. • ... are based on the latest Stepwise technology.
technical features open up new possible applications in highly frequented public areas.
In Marazzi's new ideas workshop, the "Croglio Marazzi", the "Sperimentazioni" were
created, tiles that bear the signature of designers. The 1990s were the time of major in-
ternational projects. This was the beginning of Marazzi Tecnica. At the turn of the mill-
ennium, new XXL formats and surface decors came into focus. In 2009, Marazzi laun-
ched Treverk, the first porcelain stoneware with a wood look produced using digital
printing technology, becoming the market leader in this sector. Research and develop-
ment milestones included the patent for the crystallised porcelain stoneware, Sistem
A. The Stepwise technology was brand new — slip-resistant porcelain stoneware with a
soft feel. In addition to continuous process and product research, the company was
opening up new markets, namely Japan and the United Arab Emirates. Marazzi became
the market leader in Russia in 2005. In 2013, Mohawk Industries, listed on the New York
Stock Exchange, acquired the Marazzi Group. In less than five years, the factories in
Italy and Europe were technologically upgraded and product ranges were expanded.
The historic headquarters in Sassuolo were refurbished, and Il Croglio became a cultu-
ral business. Attractive showrooms can now be found in the in trendy districts of Milan,
London, Paris and Warsaw. Marazzi – "Made in Italy", global player!
