B ei Kulturliebhabern ist Ludwigsburg vor allem wegen des blühenden
Barocks und des Residenzschlosses bekannt, doch auch für Un ter -
neh men ist die Stadt mit ihrer Lage in der Metropolregion Stutt gart höchst
attraktiv. Im Westen liegt das größte Ge wer begebiet Ludwigsburgs. Eine
Land marke bildet hier das neue Techno logie zen trum vom Filtra tions spe -
zialisten Mann+Hummel. Jahrelang auf unterschiedliche Stand orte ver -
teilt, ka men nun Entwicklung, Prüfung und Tech no lo gie am Stamm sitz
des Unternehmens zusammen. KBK Architekten aus Stutt gart ent warfen
dazu ein sechsgeschossiges Ver wal tungsgebäude mit bumerangförmigem
Grundriss und ein rechteckiges Prüfzentrum, das durch ein Foyer mit dem
Bürobau verbunden ist. Wäh rend die rundum gläserne Fas sade des Ver -
wal tungs traktes straßenseitig von grünen, ver tikalen Alu mi niumlamellen
mit Firmen logo strukturiert wird, prägt das Prüf zen trum eine Hülle aus
Aluminium kassetten und umlaufenden Fens ter bän dern. Innen spiegeln
sich die jewei ligen Gebäu de konturen wi der – ge schwung ene Linien im
Verwal tungs- und rechtwinklige Glie de rung im Tech no lo gie zentrum —
wobei Groß zügigkeit und techno ide Materialien die Atmos phä re bestim-
men. So sind die Büro be rei che offen und notwendige Trenn wände aus
Glas gestaltet. Das Waib linger Unternehmen Strähle Raum-Systeme liefer-
te hierfür das beidseitig flächenbündig verglaste System 2300 sowie das
