W orld Woven heißt die neue, modulare Teppichfliesen-Kollektion
von Interface. Inspiration dafür fand David Oakey zunächst in
Erinnerungen aus seiner Kindheit. Diese hat der Designer in Groß britan -
nien verbracht, wo handgewebte Textilien wie der traditionelle Tweed bis
heute allgegenwärtig sind. Hinzu kommen Texturen und Muster, die ver-
schiedene Kulturen und Epochen aus der ganzen Welt widerspiegeln. Mit
der Kollektion will Interface dem aktuellen Trend, hin zu mehr Wohn lich -
keit im Büro, gerecht werden. Auch die Rückbesinnung auf die Hand -
werks kunst und deren moderne Interpretation spielten eine Rolle. Entsteht
da durch doch wesentlich mehr Farbvielfalt, wie man sie beispielsweise
aus der Natur kennt. Erhältlich sind sechs Skinny Planks im Format 25
mal 100 Zentimeter und drei Fliesen im Standardformat 50 mal 50
Zentimeter, je weils in acht natürlich anmutenden Farbvarianten. Unter -
schiedliche Muster und Texturen wie Rippenstruktur, Flachgewebe und
Knotenoptik er öffnen zahlreiche Möglichkeiten der Kombination. Dank
der beiden For mate steht eine Vielzahl an Ver lege mustern zur Wahl.
Neben der, da mit einhergehenden Gestaltungs freiheit am Boden helfen
diese auch bei der Zonierung offener Büroflächen. In Bezug auf die Nach -
haltig keit kom mt Interface seinem Mission-Zero-Bekenntnis nach und
stellt das neue Produkt aus 100 Prozent recyceltem Polyamid her. Bis 2020
will das US-amerikanische Unternehmen mit Produktions stätten in
Holland und Nordirland in allen Bereichen komplett nachhaltig sein. cs

W orld Woven is the name of the new, modular collection of carpet
tiles from Interface. David Oakey initially found the inspiration for
them in memories of his childhood. The designer had spent it in Great
Britain where hand-woven fabrics such as the traditional tweeds are
omnipresent to this day. Then there are also textures and patterns which
reflect the different cultures and epochs from all over the world. With the
collection, Interface wants to follow the current trend towards more cosi-
ness in the office. The return to craftsmanship and its modern interpreta-
tion also play a role. This is because this creates a considerably larger
variety of colours as it is for instance known from nature. Available are
six Skinny Planks in the format 25 by 100 centimetres and three tiles in
the standard format of 50 by 50 centimetres, in each case in eight natu-
ral-looking colour variants. Different patterns and textures such as ribbed
structure, flat weave or knotted look allow numerous combination possi-
bilities. Thanks to the two formats, there is a choice of a multitude of
installation patterns. In addition to the resulting freedom of design on the
floor, these also aid in subdividing open-plan office areas. Regarding
sustainability, Interface lives up to its ambitious Mission Zero commit-
ment and makes the new product of 100 percent recycled polyamide. By
2020, the US-American company with production plants in the Nether-
