Gerichtshof in Verona
Während der österreichischen Herrschaft über Italien
wurde die Mastino-Kaserne 1840 unter der Feder füh -
rung von Architekt Pietro Gemma für rein militärische
Zwecke errichtet. 1983 wurde ein Teil der Anlage zum
Gerichtshof umfunktioniert. Das Foto zeigt eine der ehe-
maligen Stallungen, in der sich heute einer der Ge -
richts säle befindet. Das Kruzifix hängt unter einem Fen -
ster, sodass das einfallende Licht eine Szenerie entste-
hen lässt, die der eines Sakralraumes gleich kommt.

Courthouse of Verona
Verona courthouse is located in via dello Zappatore,
inside the ex-Caserma Mastino. The building was intend-
ed for military purposes and was built, on architect
Pietro Gemma project, in 1840 during the Austrian domi -
nion in Italy. Since 1983 is the venue of the courthouse.
The represented courtroom is situated in what were once
the stables of the barrack. The crucifix, in a position of
primary evidence, is surmounted by a window whose
light gives the space the look of a church interior.

Der Palazzo di Giustizia diente ebenfalls als Kaserne für
die Ausbildung von Soldaten. Die Umnutzung und die
damit einhergehende Renovierung der Architekten
Giovanni Bo und Luciano Bosia rettete das Gebäude
nach längerem Leerstand vor der Verwahrlosung. 2004
war der Gerichtshof bezugsfertig. Die durchweg weiße
Gestaltung der Innenräume gibt der Institution einen
für Italien höchst seltenen Eindruck von Klarheit,
Helligkeit und Leichtigkeit.

Courtcouse of Asti
Asti Palazzo di Giustizia is in Via Govone, inside a large
buiding known as Casermone. Once a barrack dedicat-
ed to soldiers training, is an excellent example of aban-
doned buildings recovery. the Casermone, once empty,
lived for years in a state of neglect. The renovation was
realized by architects Giovanni Bo and Luciano Bosia
and ended in 2004. The white color, widely used in the
interiors, gives a sense of brightness and creates a feel-
ing of lightness rather unusual in Italian courts.

Gerichtshof in Trento
1881 durch den österreichischen Architekten Karl
Schaden geplant, ist der Gerichtshof von Trento eben-
falls ein Zeugnis der Habsburger Zeit in Italien. Der hier
abgebildete Gerichtssaal dient aktuell als Berufungs -
gericht und ist den Richtern Giovanni Falcone und
Paolo Borsellino gewidmet, die 1992 von der Mafia
ermordet wurden. Sein heutiges Erscheinungsbild
erhielt der Saal im Zuge einer Umgestaltung Mitte des
vergangenen Jahrhunderts.

Courthouse of Trento
Trento Palazzo di Giustizia, of Habsburg era, was
designed by the austrian architect Karl Schaden, Wien
exponent of the universalist movement. Projected in
1876, was inaugurated in 1881. The represented court-
room is location of Corte d’Appello and is headed
to Falcone and Bor sellino, judges killed by Mafia. The
restructuring of this space took place during the middle
of the last century, furnishings and floor are typical
of that period.
