Der Holzboden ist resistent gegen Feuchtigkeit. • The wooden flooring is resistant to humidity.

D irekt am Ufer des Bosporus, der den europäischen und den asiati-
schen Teil Istanbuls voneinander trennt, liegt das Hotel Les Otto -
mans. Bis 1929 diente der um 1790 im osmanischen Stil erbaute, herr-
schaftliche Palast samt seiner opulenten Gartenanlagen als Familiensitz.
An schließend verkam das Glanzstück zusehends und wurde zuletzt als
Lagerstätte für Kohle und Sand ge nutzt. Erst in den 1980er-Jahren ver-
kauften die Erben. Der neue Eigentümer, die im Tourismusgeschäft tätige
Familie Aysal, erkannte den un be zahlbaren Wert der Immobilie und ließ
das historische Gebäude samt der 4.500 Quadratmeter großen Außen -
anlagen fachgerecht sanieren. Da bei wurde die aufwendige Holzfassade
in den Original-Zustand zurückversetzt, während im Inneren ein moder-
nes Boutique-Hotel für die wohlhabenden Besucher der Stadt entstand.
Besonderes Highlight war von Anfang an der Wellness- und Spa-Bereich
mit einem Hamam, Massage- und Ruhe liegen sowie Außen- und
Innenpools. Unlängst wurde das Angebot erweitert: Einzug gehalten hat
das Konzept Vinothérapie der Kosmetikfirma Cau dalie aus Frankreich. In
diesem Zuge wurde der gesamte Spa-Bereich renoviert. Neben Natur -
stein kam am Boden Parkett aus der Classica-Kollek tion von Listone
Giordano zum Einsatz. Möglich wird die Verwendung des Holzes im
Nassbereich dank der speziellen Versiegelung Naturplus, durch die der
Holzboden sein natürliches Erscheinungsbild zwar behält, gleichzeitig
aber besonders resistent gegen Feuchtigkeit wird. cs

Der osmanische Stil des Hauses wurde modern interpretiert. • The Ottoman style of the building was interpreted in a modern way. R ight on the bank of the Bosporus separating the European from
the Asian part of Istanbul stands the Hotel Les Ottomans. Until
1929 the stately palace, built around 1790 in Ottoman style, including
its lush gardens served as a family residence. Subsequently the gem
noticeably decayed and was last used as a deposit for store coal and
sand. The heirs did not sell it until the 1980s. The new owners, the
Aysal family active in tourism, were aware of the priceless value of the
property and had the historic building together with the 4,500 square
metres grounds expertly renovated. In the process, the elaborate woo-
den façade was restored to its original condition while, inside, a
modern boutique hotel for well-off visitors of the city was designed.
From the beginning, a special highlight was the wellness- and spa area
with a hammam, massage benches and relaxation loungers as well as
outdoor- and indoor pools. Just recently, the offers were expanded: the
Vinothérapie concept of the cosmetics company Caudalie from France
was added. In the course of this, the whole spa area was renovated.
In addition to natural stone, on the floor parquet from the Classica
Collection by Listone Giordano was installed. The use of wood in the
wet zone was made possible thanks to the special Naturplus sealing
which, although letting the wooden floor keep its natural appearance,
makes it particularly resistant to humidity at the same time.
