Ü ber den Dächern Berlins, im 35. Stockwerk des Bürohochhauses von Bjarke Ingels
Group sind die neuen Edge Germany Headquarters angesiedelt. Drei wesentliche
Parameter flossen in das Interior Design von Studio Frick ein: die auf Sichtbeton und Stahl
reduzierte Architektur, die Marke Edge, die für nachhaltiges Bauen steht, und der lebendi-
ge Standort zwischen den Stadtteilen Friedrichshain und Kreuzberg. Der Empfangsbereich
wird durch eine Pflanzeninstallation und das auffällig platzierte Firmenlogo inszeniert.
Seitlich davon befindet sich der Besprechungsbereich mit „Concentration Rooms“ sowie
einem WC-Kern, der als Raum-im-Raum-System zugleich technische Infrastruktur inte-
griert. Dieses Prinzip wird im 33 Meter langen sogenannten Train fortgeführt – einem
linearen Element, das Telefonkabinen, Ruhezonen und Projekträume zusammenspannt.
Im Herzen des Büros liegt ein Gemeinschaftsbereich, der informelles Arbeiten und Begeg-
nungen fördert. Transparente Vorhänge gliedern die Fläche, ohne den offenen Charak-
ter zu stören. Helle Farben und zahlreiche Pflanzen erzeugen eine leichte Atmosphäre,
lediglich einige Möbel – wie die von Studio Frick entworfenen „Jelly Tables“ – setzen
markante, farbige Akzente. Ziel der Gestaltung war ein zurückhaltendes Design mit klarer
Formsprache: Edelstahl, Aluminium, Silbertöne, Eichenholz und Spachtelböden prägen
die Materialität, hinzu kommen einige wenige rote und grüne Farbtupfer.

H igh above the rooftops of Berlin, on the 35th floor of the office tower designed by
Bjarke Ingels Group, you’ll find the new Edge Germany headquarters. Three key
parameters informed the interior design by Studio Frick: the architecture reduced to expo-
sed concrete and steel, the Edge brand, synonymous with sustainable construction, and
the vibrant location between the districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. The reception
area is staged with a plant installation and a prominently placed company logo. To the
side is the meeting area with “concentration rooms” and a WC core which, as a room-
in-room system, also integrates technical infrastructure. This principle continues in the
so-called “train”, a 33-metre-long linear element with phone booths, quiet zones and pro-
ject rooms. At the heart of the office is a communal area designed to encourage informal
working and encounters. Transparent curtains structure the space without disrupting its
open character. Light colours and numerous plants create an airy atmosphere, with only
a few pieces of furniture – such as the “Jelly Tables” designed by Studio Frick – providing
bold, colourful accents. The design goal was a restrained aesthetic with a clear formal
language: stainless steel, aluminium, silver shades, oak and screed floors define the
materiality, complemented by a few carefully placed touches of red and green.
