Edoardo Tresoldi in Ravenna

„Sacral“ heißt die jüngste begehbare Installation von Edoardo Tresoldi, die noch bis
zum 9. Januar 2022 im Klosterhof des Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna (MAR) zu
sehen ist. Der italienische Künstler, bekannt für seine Gitter-Installationen, schuf
Sacral für die aktuelle Dante-Ausstellung „A POP Saga“ und reinterpretiert damit das
Nobile Castello aus Dante Alighieris „Inferno“. Die sich je nach Blickpunkt mal mehr,
mal weniger optisch verdichtenden, filigranen, bei Kunstlicht noch imposanteren Git-
terstrukturen, spielen – ganz Tresoldi-typisch – mit dem Thema „Absent matter“ und
zeigen, wie wenig Materie es braucht, um faszinierenden Raum zu fassen. wa

Sacral is the title of the most recent accessible installation by Edoardo Tresoldi still
shown in the cloister courtyard of Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna (MAR) until 9th
January 2022. The Italian artist, known for his wire-mesh installation, created Sacral
for the current Dante exhibition A POP Saga and reinterprets the Nobile Castello from
Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. The grid structures, which become visually more or less
dense depending on the point of view, play – typical of Tresoldi – on the topic of “Ab-

Eileen Gray in Roquebrune

Sie ist wieder zu besichtigen! Villa E-1027 – Eileen Grays Meisterwerk der Moderne an
der Côte d’Azur. Auf Initiative der Association Cap Moderne, mithilfe internationaler Ex-
perten und dank eines Budgets von 5,5 Millionen Euro wurde die Villa, die die irische
Designerin und Architektin gemeinsam mit ihrem Lebensgefährten, dem rumänischen
Architekten Jean Badovici, zwischen 1926 und 1929 in der Bucht von Roquebrune-Cap
Martin erbaut hatte, originalgetreu saniert – Le Corbusier hatte gegen Ende des Zweiten
Weltkriegs ungefragt Wandmalereien angebracht! Die Möbel, Lichtsituationen und De-
tails zeugen vom untrüglichen Gespür der Autodidaktin für das ebenso Praktische wie
Schöne. Das gesamte Cap Moderne, zu dem Le Corbusiers Sommerhäuschen Le Cabanon
sowie das Restaurant Étoile de Mer zählen, stehen unter dem Schutz der UNESCO. wa

It can be visited again! Villa E-1027 – Eileen Gray’s masterwork of the modern age at
the Côte d’Azur. Upon the initiative of the Cap Moderne association, with internatio-
nal experts and a budget of 5.5 million euros, the villa the Irish designer and archi-
tect together with her companion, the Romanian architect Jean Badovici, had built
on the bay of Roquebrune-Cap Martin between 1926 and 1929, has been faithfully re-
novated. Le Corbusier had added some mural paintings and the furniture, light si-
tuations and details testify to the infallible feeling of the autodidact for what is prac-
tical and attractive. The entire Cap Moderne, which includes Le Corbusier’s summer
cottage as well as the Étoile de Mer restaurant, is under the protection of UNESCO.
