TRV OFFICE
IN MINSK

T he gaming industry is booming, and corona has further fuelled the hype about
video games worldwide. Vizor Games got off to a flying start with its first game,
Zombie Island. Meanwhile, millions of users move around in the colourful fantasy
world of the friendly creatures. The games are developed primarily in Minsk. In 2020,
Belarusian studio Kotra Architects devised a new working environment, the TRV Office,
for one of the company’s departments. As is symptomatic for start-ups, the interior re-
sembles a mix of office and home ambience. But it appears – at least in work mode –
to be a counter-design to the garishly colourful, virtual gaming worlds: deliberately
calm and unobtrusive, almost conservative. This is mainly reflected in the colour and
material selection, which includes between white, grey and brown shades respectively
wood, carpet, natural stone and mirrored surfaces. If desired, the TRV Office can be
completely immersed in a variety of lighting moods, in red and blue suitable for parties
or in relaxing green. Ah, the brightly coloured world of online games exists here after
all! This change of colour and mood is made possible by the round acoustic and lumi-
nous panels that are suspended in the imposing, five-metre-high rooms. Even with
neutral white working light, the elements are the office’s most distinctive feature.
