ning + Innovation Center von Steelcase nahe dem Königsplatz in

München. In direkter Nachbarschaft befindet sich neben der Hochschu le
für Politik und dem Münchener Technologiezentrum eine Vielzahl an mu -
sealen Bau ten und kulturellen Einrichtungen. Somit unterstreicht der
Standort das Statement der 2017 eröffneten Arbeitsumgebung ebenso wie
die Neugestal tung der Innenräume einer ehemaligen Firmen zentrale. Auf
mehr als 14.000 Quadratmetern soll nun die internationale Vernetzung
und ge genseitige Förderung kreativer Arbeits- und Lern prozesse im Fokus
stehen. Dabei setzten die Architekten von Henn Architekten zusammen mit
dem französischen Designduo Jouin Manku auf helle, ausladende Räu me,
die ein Interagieren unterschiedlicher Bereiche wie Produktentwick lung,
Ver trieb, Kommunikation, Finanz- und Rechtswesen etagenübergreifend
erlauben. Einzelbüros sind offenen und flexibel ge staltbaren Flächen für
Teamarbeit und Konferenzen gewichen. Der Ein gangsbereich erhielt ei ne
komplette Neuinszenierung und beherbergt nun ein WorkCafé über zwei
Ebenen. Die Dynamik des Ortes wird durch die über zwei Meter breite
Trep pe, die alle fünf Eta gen verbindet, als zentrales Element unterstrichen.
Steelcase hat für seinen neuen „Knotenpunkt“ ein breites Spektrum eige-
ner Möbel wie den Dreh stuhl Silq oder die Steel case Series 1 im Arbeits -
bereich und Lounge möbel wie den LessThanFive-Stuhl – entwickelt von

Learning + Innovations Center near Königsplatz in Munich. Besides

the School of Public Policy and the Munich Technology Centre, numerous
museums and cultural institutions are in the immediate vicinity. Thus the
location stresses the statement of the work environment opened in 2017 as
well as the redesign of the interiors in a former company headquarters. On
more than 14,000 square metres, the international networking and the
mutual promotion of creative work- and learning processes is now to be
in the focus. For this purpose, Henn Architekten together with the French
Jouin Manku duo of designers decided in favour of bright, spacious rooms
which make it possible to integrate different sectors such as product deve-
lopment, marketing, communication, financial- and legal department
across all the floors. Individual offices have been replaced with open-plan
and flexibly designable areas for teamwork and conferences. The entrance
area has been completely re-designed and now includes a “WorkCafé”
extending over two levels. The dynamism of the place is emphasized by
the stairs as a central element with a width of more than two metres and
connecting all the five floors. For its new hub, Steelcase integrated into the
design a wide range of their in-house furniture such as the Silq swivel chair
in the work area and lounge furniture such as the LessThanFive chair deve-
loped by Michael Young and the Coalesse Design Group.
