W as mit der Idee begann, modebewussten Frau en möglichst einfach zu Prêt-à-
porter-Mode zu verhelfen, ist heute zu einem internationalen Onlinehan del ange-
wachsen. Fünf Jahre nach der Gründung von Novelty Apparel soll das online ge formte
Markenimage nun auch offl ine mit einem Laden lokal im mexikanischen Monterrey
unterstützt werden. Die Ver kaufs fläche des Stores ist innerhalb eines Bestands ge bäudes
auf zwei Etagen organisiert, zwischen denen der großzügige Eingangsbereich vermittelt.
Gestalterisch herrscht das Motiv der Treppe vor, das in Form von hinterleuchteten Wand -
vormauerrungen und verschachtelten Podest-Anlagen zum Ein satz kommt. Kreisförmige
Wandausschnitte ergänzen das Formenrepertoire. Glänzend polierte Metall-Kleider -
stangen und eingestellte Vitrinen machen aus den detailreichen Treppen-Installa tionen
eine vielschichtige, rosa Präsen ta tions land schaft. Farblich fein darauf abgestimmt sind
der grau melierte Estrich sowie verschiedene Marmor ober flä chen. Eine polygonal ge -
formte weiße Deckenverkleidung liefert mit durchgängigen Licht bändern eine farbechte
Aus leuch tung, die sich nicht nur für den Verkauf, sondern auch für Foto shoo tings eignet.
Ein Grund mehr, weshalb das Unternehmen den Store regel mäßig als Fotokulisse nutzt,
um Bildmaterial für die eigenen Social-Media-Platt for men zu produzieren. Für Novelty
Apparel ist damit eine sinnfällige Verschränkung von online und offline erreicht.

W hat started with the idea of making it as easy as possible for fashion-conscious
women to purchase prêt-à-porter fashion, has today grown into an interna-
tional online business. Five years after the foundation of Novelty Apparel, the online
established brand image is to be also supported offline with a retail store in
Monterrey in Mexico. The sales area of the store is located in an existing building on
two floors with the spacious entrance forming a link between them. As to the design,
the motif of stairs dominates which is used in the form of back-lit wall facing and sys-
tems of platforms. Circular wall incisions complement the repertoire of forms. Highly
polished metal clothes rails and added showcases turn the detailed stairs installa-
tions into a multi-layered, pink presentation landscape. Finely colour-coordinated is
the grey-flecked screed as well as various marble surfaces. With continuous light
bands, the polygonal, white ceiling panelling provides true-colour illumination which
is not only suitable for sales but also for photo shootings. One more reason why the
company regularly uses the store as a photo setting to produce visuals for its own
social-media platforms. Novelty Apparel has thus succeeded with an evident interlac-
ing of online and offline.
